The curtain had risen on the midterm exams.

Although Pokémon battles dominated the school curriculum, the various foundational Pokémon knowledge they studied on ordinary days would also be included in the overall assessment.

As for Pokémon theory, Yan Yang was indeed quite proficient. The questions on the test paper were far too simple for him and presented almost no challenge.

There were no hellish questions about Pokémon breeding, nor any excessively detailed questions about Pokémon species. Since the test mainly covered Pokémon knowledge related to battling, Yan Yang at least knew the basics.

For example, the classic question: "Which of the following Pokémon is a Dragon-type Pokémon?"

I only needed zero seconds to guess what the options below were. Why not give it a try yourself?

As long as there were no questions like what Jigglypuff looked like from above, it was fine.

In any case, Yan Yang did not encounter any questions that shattered his heart.

The real main event was the practical assessment.

That was what made up the largest portion of the final grade.

Since class sizes were generally kept to around thirty students, the school was able to arrange a more ideal 1v1 battle assessment.

However, because one student in Yan Yang's class had dropped out, he might need to be matched for a make-up battle against a student from another class who was also absent or on leave.

The assessment rules were simple and straightforward: 3v3 battles, with the teachers watching from below scoring them based on their overall performance during the match.

That was right. It was not simply about judging heroes by victory or defeat. To earn a high score, one had to "win beautifully."

"Beautiful" here did not refer to how flashy the moves were—that was the standard for Pokémon Contests.
