Yan Yang could not resist using his God's Eye to check Suicune's information. Not only was he shocked by Suicune's immense strength, but the seemingly pointed evaluation also amused him.

Had to be you, being cheeky.

Yan Yang did not know why Suicune had come here, but Suicune surely meant no harm. Not every Legendary Pokémon was difficult to deal with, especially Suicune, who was famed for his gentleness.

Suicune looked at the human child before him, somewhat puzzled. No one lived in this forest, so how could there be a human child here?

And why did this child carry such a strong yet familiar aura? It was the aura of his good brother, Entei.

Suicune skipped across the water like a dragonfly skimming its surface and arrived before Yan Yang in an instant.

Looking at the tall Suicune suddenly standing before him, Yan Yang felt a little afraid. Although Suicune would not deliberately impose his Pressure Ability on a child, Yan Yang could still sense a faint oppressive feeling. Was this what it meant to be a Legendary Pokémon?

Yet he did not seem to have felt any pressure from Entei. Perhaps he had become immune after living with him for so long.

Suicune looked down at Yan Yang, the doubts in his heart deepening. "Why does this human child carry such a powerful scent of Entei?"

As one of the Legendary Beasts, Suicune was as close to Entei and Raikou as brothers. He had not seen Entei in quite some time, and honestly, he missed him a little.

Who knew where that guy had run off to over the past few years? They had not crossed paths once.

When Suicune passed through this forest, he discovered traces of Entei and had intended to find him for a chat. Instead of Entei, however, he found a human child carrying Entei's scent. Suicune could not help but read into it.

"Uncle Suicune?" Yan Yang hesitated for a moment before deciding to break the silence.

"???"

Suicune's mind was full of question marks. He reflexively asked, "Who are you?"

Suicune had a pleasant voice. If Entei's voice was stern and powerful, then Suicune's was undoubtedly gentle and beautiful.

"My name is Yan Yang."

"You can understand me?" Suicune was surprised.

Yan Yang nodded.

"Yan Yang, why are you alone in this forest? Where is your family?"

"I don't know. I was probably abandoned." Yan Yang no longer felt much toward his biological parents. He had never even met them, so there was no need to waste extra feelings on people who abandoned their child.

Suicune roughly understood the situation and asked again, "Child, do you know Entei? He's a big, tall orange-red Pokémon. You carry a very strong scent of him."

"You mean Dad? He isn't here. He went to work."

Yan Yang's words made Suicune feel as though he had heard something unbelievable.

What? Yan Yang called Entei Dad? What was going on? So when he called Suicune Uncle just now, he had really considered Suicune his uncle?

After talking for a while longer, Suicune more or less understood the situation, though he still found it hard to believe.

That single-minded Entei had actually adopted a human child and raised him this big already. It was truly unbelievable.

This was no small matter. Entei had not even told him or Raikou about it. That was simply too inappropriate.

Yan Yang quietly watched Suicune's thoughtful expression, having no idea what he was thinking.

Come to think of it, Suicune seemed to be the eldest among the Legendary Beasts, while Entei seemed to be the youngest brother. So calling him Uncle had not been wrong, right? Or did Pokémon not see things that way?

Yan Yang knew this Suicune should be from the same group as his father. After all, they were both from the Johto Region, and it seemed there was more than one of each Legendary Beast.

He remembered a movie in which Shiny Legendary Beasts had appeared. Their strength probably was not impressive, though. Even an ordinary Pokémon could toy with them, so they definitely could not compare to the Legendary Beasts of the Johto Region.

Did the Legendary Beasts of Johto count as the ancestors of all other Legendary Beasts? Johto's Suicune could purify polluted water, his father Entei possessed authority related to volcanoes, and Raikou apparently did have some ability to alter the weather of an area.

No, probably not. They could be called the strongest, but they were probably not the earliest group of Legendary Beasts.

"Do you want me to take you to find your dad?" Suicune suddenly asked.

"Huh?" Yan Yang had not reacted when Suicune had already lowered himself, preparing to let him ride on his back.

Could Legendary Pokémon really let other humans ride on their backs so easily?

But since Suicune did not mind, Yan Yang felt embarrassed making him wait. He quickly climbed onto Suicune's back. Once he had settled securely, Suicune slowly rose and ran toward a certain place.

Suicune did not have fur like Entei. Aside from his thick purple mane, which symbolized the aurora, there was nowhere else that was fluffy. Still, Suicune's body was cool like an ice pack, and sitting on him was extremely comfortable.

Suicune was also very fast, but Yan Yang did not feel uncomfortable at all. Suicune's agile figure was like the North Wind itself, and with his mane and streamers fluttering in the breeze, he created an overwhelming visual impact.

Anyone who saw him would have to say, wow, this Pokémon is really beautiful.

Yan Yang was still wondering why Suicune had accepted him so quickly. Logically speaking, they should have some resistance toward humans, yet Suicune had even allowed him to ride on his back.

With the pride of a Legendary Pokémon, not just anyone could ride them. At the very least, they had to be someone the Pokémon acknowledged.

He had only met Suicune once, yet Suicune trusted him this much?

Uh, what was he thinking? It was most likely because of Entei.

The Legendary Beasts were righteous Pokémon and would not acknowledge humans with evil intentions. The humans they acknowledged had to be righteous and kind as well.

Since Entei was willing to adopt him, that meant Yan Yang had gained Entei's recognition. Naturally, the other two Sacred Beasts would take a second look at him too. This also showed just how close the Legendary Beasts were.

The truth was exactly as Yan Yang had guessed. Suicune knew Entei's temperament. If Entei was willing to protect a human of his own accord, then that child was absolutely trustworthy. At least, that was what Suicune believed.

He just did not know what Raikou would think. That guy harbored the deepest resentment toward humans. He had once been cold and indifferent even toward the designated Brave of the Rainbow, as though he truly wanted to draw a clear line between himself and humans.

Still, Raikou was rational and willing to listen to reason. Otherwise, Suicune would truly fear that he might do something extreme.

As Suicune ran, he told the child on his back stories, such as the origins of the Legendary Beasts. Although Entei had never told him these things, Yan Yang still knew a little about them.

Legend had it that they were originally three unknown Pokémon who had burned to death in the fire at the Burned Tower. Ho-Oh used his power to revive them, but humans, fearing the power of resurrection, drove the Legendary Beasts away. They left the Burned Tower and became Ho-Oh's envoys for observing humanity.

What Suicune said was more or less the same as what Yan Yang knew.

Yan Yang also had the same question as many others, one of the Pokémon world's great unsolved mysteries: what had the Legendary Beasts originally been?

The theory that they had been three Eevee matching their types was complete nonsense. Yan Yang did not believe any kind of fire could burn a Fire-type Flareon with Flash Fire to death.

But he did not dare ask. This probably counted as the Legendary Beasts' privacy, so he should not pry too much.

Actually, even if Yan Yang had asked, it would not have mattered. The revived Legendary Beasts had no memories of before, and they themselves did not know what Pokémon they had been before their resurrection. Perhaps only Ho-Oh knew?

After an unknown amount of time, Suicune seemed to have spotted his target. Entei was already close at hand.
