Ch. 462Virus

Kirk and Illyria used their honeymoon journey to lure Grebo out so Kirk could expose the Space virus possessing him. Grebo appeared, isolated Kirk from his teammates, and stopped Illyria from teleporting away, leaving the three of them face to face.

  • Rome buzzed with rumors after Illyria divorced Grebo and announced her love for Kirk, while Caesar named Grebo an enemy of the state.
  • Kirk and Illyria traveled toward Capus as part of a plan to draw Grebo out, while Wang Han and the others waited in the woods nearby.
  • The Space virus severed Kirk's team communications, and Grebo emerged from the woods with the power to alter space and other rules.
  • Kirk scanned Grebo and learned the Space needed time to identify and launch an extermination program for the new virus.
  • Grebo blamed Kirk for losing his family, glory, wife, and legion, then blocked Illyria's teleportation and forced her back toward them.

Ch. 463Supernatural Ability

Kirk tried to stall Grebo while the System scanned the spatial virus, but Grebo trapped him and Illyria inside a severed space. Spartacus proved immune to Grebo’s rule-altering power and wounded him, though Grebo retaliated by shattering Spartacus’s sword.

  • Kirk stalled Grebo by praising his past and challenging him to fight without spatial abilities, but Grebo reversed Kirk’s blood flow and forced him to flee with Illyria.
  • Kirk discovered that Grebo’s power stopped at a limited range, but a spatial barrier blocked their escape as the System began scanning the new virus.
  • Kirk summoned Spartacus and Katherine; Katherine identified the barrier as an independent space created by spatial rules.
  • Spartacus resisted Grebo’s blood-flow attack, cut off Grebo’s left arm, and drove him back because the Soulstone protected him from Grebo’s powers.
  • Grebo severed the space around Spartacus, slicing his greatsword into pieces before it could strike.

Ch. 464Revenge

Kirk and his Katherines fought Grebo while the space gathered enough power to erase the virus in him, but Grebo overpowered them and revealed [Annihilation]. The chapter ended with Grebo pinning Kirk down and bringing [Annihilation] toward his chest.

  • Spartacus wounded Grebo with javelins, but Grebo healed himself with time reversal, and Kirk recalled Spartacus before Grebo could erase him.
  • Kirk and Katherine attacked Grebo together, injuring him and slowing him, but Grebo broke free and used the [Boiling Blood Technique] to torture Kirk.
  • Grebo admitted that he had killed Illyria's father, and Illusion Katherine severed his control over Kirk long enough for Kirk to attack him.
  • Dark Magic Katherine shielded Kirk from the [Boiling Blood Technique], and the space completed its reverse-decoding program and began gathering energy to erase Grebo.
  • Kirk's Katherines attacked Grebo as lightning struck him, but Grebo shattered Assassin Katherine and forced Kirk to recall Illusion Katherine.
  • Grebo revealed [Annihilation], restrained Kirk, and pressed the substance toward his chest while boasting that this was his revenge.

Ch. 465Fragrant Beauty’s Demise

Kirk killed Grebo after Illyria sacrificed herself to save him, then begged Juno to resurrect her. Juno explained that only Hades ruled over life and death, and as Kirk refused compensation, a beautiful young woman stepped from the shadows.

  • Illyria shielded Kirk from [Oblivion], vanished, and left him holding her hand.
  • Kirk transformed into a Wolverine and, with Spartacus, brutally attacked Grebo until the Space's golden lightning erased him.
  • Kirk learned that his commission was complete and rushed to Rome City, where Wang Han and the others found him.
  • Kirk asked Juno to resurrect Illyria, but she said Hades controlled life and death and offered him a [Gift of the Major God] instead.
  • Kirk refused the reward and insisted on saving Illyria, and an extraordinary young woman emerged from the shadows.

Ch. 466God of the Underworld

Kirk persuaded Venus and Juno to help recover Illyria’s soul, then followed Mercury into the Underworld. Hades agreed to restore Illyria, but after seeing the trace of [Annihilation] on her right hand, he claimed the power for himself.

  • Venus told Kirk that Illyria’s soul could be retrieved through the border between the Underworld and the mortal world, and Kirk offered to forfeit his remaining [Gift of the Major God] rewards.
  • Juno agreed to help Kirk and sent Mercury with him to find Illyria’s soul.
  • Mercury led Kirk through the Well of Oaths to the Agron River, where the God of Eternal Sleep initially challenged their authority.
  • Hades ordered the God of Eternal Sleep to find Illyria’s soul and agreed to release it for Juno’s sake.
  • Hades noticed the trace of [Annihilation] on Illyria’s right hand and claimed it, then promised to give Illyria a body and restore her physical form.

Ch. 467Divine Gift

Kirk traded the viral substance to Juno in exchange for Illyria’s restoration, and the Roman gods rebuilt her body and made her a lesser deity and Soulstone resident. Juno then offered Kirk the chance to receive a second skill from one of the six Roman Major Gods, leaving him to choose without knowing what each skill would be.

  • Kirk chose to give the viral substance to Juno after she agreed to restore Illyria, while Hades demanded Kirk bring him another Evil God’s remains in the future.
  • Kirk reunited with Illyria in the Underworld and returned with her to the Hall of Gods.
  • Venus appointed Illyria her messenger, and Juno and the other Roman gods restored her body and granted her divine power.
  • Illyria became a lesser deity and the eleventh official resident of Kirk’s Soulstone.
  • Juno separated the viral substance from Illyria’s hand and offered Kirk a second Major God skill, telling him to select one of six gods without knowing the skill he would receive.

Ch. 468New Skill

Kirk chose Mars’s blessing and gained a powerful team-wide combat skill, while his team celebrated Grebo’s destruction and planned their next steps. They hurried to Pompey’s residence and joined Caesar’s military conference after learning Octavian had been summoned there.

  • Kirk learned about Illyria’s abilities as Venus’s Divine Messenger and chose Mars as the god to bless him.
  • Mars granted Kirk the [Wrath of the God of War] set bonus, which boosted the team’s combat abilities for a limited time.
  • Juno told Kirk to prepare for her visit to bless Caesar and to bring her the remnants of any other Evil Gods they destroyed.
  • Kirk told Wang Han, Little Fatty, and Sheva that Grebo had been destroyed and Illyria had joined the team.
  • Kirk recalled that he still needed to travel to North Africa to complete the final unlocking step for [Queen Dido’s Love].
  • Kirk and his team went to Pompey’s residence and were admitted to Caesar’s military conference.

Ch. 469**

Caesar prepared to pursue Pompey while Octavian demonstrated political insight and began training under Plo. Kirk and his companions became entangled in Atia’s plan to initiate Octavian, and they took him to a clandestine brothel.

  • Octavian questioned Caesar about his odds against Pompey, prompting Caesar to prepare for war and leave Antony in charge of Rome.
  • Octavian returned home and met Plo, who began teaching him combat techniques; Kirk sparred with Plo and learned from the experience.
  • Plo confided that he suspected Warrenus’s wife of infidelity, and Octavian advised him to stay silent without proof.
  • Kirk told Little Fatty that they should let Caesar die so Octavian could rise to power, while Warrenus struggled to find work and sought to rejoin Caesar’s forces.
  • Atia ordered Kirk and Plo to take Octavian to a brothel so he could lose his virginity, and Kirk set off with Octavian, Plo, Little Fatty, and Sheva.

Ch. 470Devour

Kirk took Octavian to experience life among ordinary Romans, then met privately with Meg to discuss her future and ended up sharing an intimate encounter with her. As they left the brothel, Plo teased Kirk about the witch princess.

  • Kirk led Octavian away from a filthy brothel, and Plo explained that they had brought him there to see where Roman veterans spent their time.
  • Plo handed Octavian over to a madam at a lavish brothel while he and Little Fatty chose women for themselves.
  • Kirk summoned Meg and tried to ask whether she wanted to keep fighting alongside him, but Meg believed he was casting her out because she had refused him.
  • Kirk comforted Meg as she explained she had nowhere else to go, and they kissed and made love.
  • Plo knocked to hurry Kirk along, but Meg drew him back into another passionate encounter before they left.
  • Little Fatty teased Kirk on the way back and asked what the witch princess had been like.

Ch. 471Dispatching Troops

Juno appeared before Rome and proclaimed that Caesar would lead Rome into a new age, after which Caesar marched to fight Pompey in Greece. As Caesar’s forces faltered, Antony hesitated over Pompey’s offer, but Kirk reminded him of Pompey’s past betrayal and left Antony’s decision unsettled.

  • Caesar received Juno’s blessing before the Roman people and soldiers, and Juno declared that he would lead Rome into a new age.
  • Caesar ordered his legions to march on Greece and fight Pompey.
  • Atia learned that Caesar was retreating and that Antony was considering Pompey’s offer, so she sought to protect herself and planned to send Octavian away from Rome.
  • Octavian went with Kirk to Antony’s mansion and urged Antony to reinforce Caesar, while Pompey’s envoy pressed Antony to defect.
  • As Antony prepared to decide, Kirk used Tongue of the Slave Trader to say “Luca,” prompting Antony to lower his raised hands and reconsider Pompey’s offer.

Ch. 472Shipwreck

Kirk and his companions survived a storm that sank the 13th Legion’s fleet, rescued Octavian and Antony, and decided to ride south to find Caesar. With Pompey preparing for a decisive battle, the senators pressured him to abandon his safer strategy and fight Caesar directly.

  • Antony rejected Pompey’s envoy, assembled the 13th Legion, and sailed for Greece with Octavian, Kirk, Warrenus, and Plo.
  • A storm sank their warship, but Kirk swam Octavian to shore, where the team found Wang Han, Little Fatty, Sheva, and the unconscious Antony.
  • Kirk chose to spare Antony and led the survivors to a fishing village, where they learned the 13th Legion had been destroyed and Caesar would receive no reinforcements.
  • Antony and Octavian asked Kirk what to do, and Kirk persuaded the seven survivors to ride south and help Caesar rather than return to Rome.
  • Pompey proposed trapping Caesar and waiting for his forces to collapse, but the senators pressured him into ordering a decisive battle.

Ch. 473Decisive Battle

Kirk, Antony, and Octavian arrived at the decisive battle between Caesar and Pompey, where Caesar’s outnumbered forces were close to collapse. Kirk planned to infiltrate Pompey’s ranks to seize a banner, while Pompey received a warning about Caesar’s supposed hidden plan and met the long-vanished Grebo.

  • Kirk proposed that he and his companions enter Pompey’s ranks, kill a commander, and seize a banner to damage enemy morale.
  • Pompey taunted Brutus as Caesar’s forces faltered, while Brutus vowed to protect Caesar’s remains if he died.
  • A messenger told Pompey that a visitor had warned Old Scipio of a feint and a hidden move by Caesar, prompting Pompey to summon the visitor.
  • Pompey recognized the visitor as Grebo, the former commander of the First Legion who had disappeared after the Tiber River battle.

Ch. 474Daggers Drawn

Kirk disguised himself as Grebo and stabbed Pompey, but the team’s attempts to confirm Pompey’s death failed when Pompey revived and struck Kirk. Kirk recognized him as Space Virus Pompey as they tried to escape the surrounding army.

  • Kirk approached Pompey disguised as Grebo and cut his throat with [Mori's Hand-Cutting Blade].
  • Kirk’s team armed themselves, and Warrenus and Plo witnessed Kirk’s transformation from Grebo into Kirk.
  • Wang Han and Sheva attacked Pompey’s corpse to ensure he was dead, while Kirk began planning how to get his team out with Pompey’s head.
  • Little Fatty tried to cut off Pompey’s head, but Pompey grabbed his sword, revived, and punched through Kirk’s abdomen.
  • Kirk laughed and identified the revived Pompey as Space Virus Pompey.

Ch. 475Cut Down the Banner — A Call for Monthly Votes

Kirk’s team fought Pompey’s forces after discovering that Pompey was an immortal Space virus who could alter memories. Kirk led the assault toward the Goddess of Victory banner to break the Roman army’s faith, but reserves blocked their path as cavalry closed in.

  • Pompey revealed that he had recognized Kirk as an impostor through his ability to sense viruses and could rewrite memories and emotions.
  • Kirk ordered his team to attack the Goddess of Victory banner, while Spartacus appeared and said Grebo’s death had freed him from his grief.
  • Kirk, Spartacus, and the others fought through Roman troops as Illyria charmed a cavalry unit and Meg summoned demons to attack Old Scipio’s cavalry.
  • Old Scipio crushed the charmed cavalry and led more than a thousand horsemen toward Kirk’s team.
  • Pompey’s reserves poured from nearby tents, leaving Kirk’s team less than thirty seconds to reach the banner before they were overwhelmed.

Ch. 476Advance—Breakthrough; Begging for Votes

Kirk’s team fought through Pompey’s forces and reached the Goddess of Victory’s banner, while Caesar’s battle line faltered. After Minerva explained that three divine guardians protected the banner’s blessing, Kirk entered it alone to defeat them and weaken Pompey’s army.

  • Wang Han and Katherine combined their illusions, causing Roman soldiers to mistake one another for demons and attack each other.
  • Kirk activated [Wrath of the God of War], and his strengthened team broke through the Second Guards’ formation as Scipio and Pompey’s troops pursued them.
  • Little Fatty engaged Herasek while Kirk climbed onto Pompey’s command tent and tried to cut down the Goddess of Victory’s banner.
  • Kirk contacted Minerva, who explained that three divine guardians protected the banner and that he had to defeat them inside it without outside help.
  • As Kirk’s allies were pressed by Pompey’s forces, he entered the banner and appeared in an endless expanse of stars.

Ch. 477A Guard's Last Stand—A Desperate Plea for Votes

Kirk defeated the first guardian messenger, Heracles, while Little Fatty killed Herasek, bringing down Pompey's battle standard and giving Caesar's forces a chance to turn the battle. Pompey responded by killing his deputy and ordering Old Scipio to eliminate the attackers, while the team continued fighting under mounting pressure.

  • Kirk fought Heracles in the ruined temple, endured repeated near-fatal blows, and killed him with [End of Ruin] and [Throat Cut].
  • Little Fatty killed Herasek in a desperate exchange, while Warrenus was rescued from the enemy ranks and the team lost its remaining summoned demons.
  • Wang Han and the others struggled to hold back Pompey's army as Sheva killed enemy officers and the Goddess of Victory's battle standard began to fall.
  • Octavian pointed out the drooping standard, and Caesar ordered Antony and the reserves to prepare a full assault once it fell.
