Dongshu had finished his challenge at the Cerulean Gym and successfully obtained the Blue Badge. As he stepped out of the Gym, he checked his map.
His next destination—Vermilion City.
There was also a Pokémon Gym there: the Electric-type Vermilion Gym. Its Gym Leader was Lt. Surge, a former Air Force major said to be a tough guy as swift as lightning.
In that case, it was decided!
Vermilion City also happened to be an excellent sightseeing destination in the Pokémon world.
What was more, it had world-class luxury cruise ships like the S.S. Anne and the Sea Gallop. Going aboard to experience them with Raikou and the others would be quite nice as well.
The only problem was that boarding those ships required buying tickets, and Dongshu's currency system was completely different from that of this world.
He could live solely on Shock Points, but if he wanted to use other facilities, he needed the Pokémon League's standard currency: League Coins.
Fortunately, the System Store had a function for exchanging Shock Points for League Coins, at a rate of 1:1000. In other words, 1 Shock Point could be exchanged for 1,000 League Coins, which was very convenient.
After taking a quick look, Dongshu put away the panel.
He had planned to rest in Cerulean City for a day before continuing his journey, but before he had taken more than a few steps, he saw a familiar figure rushing toward him from afar.
"Cerulean Gym, here I come!"
That was—Ash?
Dongshu paused in surprise.
Pikachu on Ash's shoulder spotted Dongshu as well.
Its eyes immediately lit up with delight.
"Pikachu!"
"Huh?" Ash turned around. "Dongshu?! You're in Cerulean City too?"
"That's right. I just finished challenging the Cerulean Gym." Dongshu grinned.
"I got a Badge too—the Gray Badge from Pewter
