After exchanging a few more moves, Chiba Shin'i's blood pressure shot through the roof from dealing with Uchiha Mai. He truly couldn't hold it in any longer.

After knocking Uchiha Mai back with one move, he chose to withdraw, leaving Uchiha Mai to Kumogakure's other Chunin while he went after Hyuuga Kagetora himself.

Hyuuga Kagetora's pair of Byakugan was far too conspicuous. He was obviously an expert, so from the very start of the clash, he had been treated as the focus of their combined attacks.

Chiba Shin'i faced Uchiha Mai, five or six Cloud Shinobi held off Hyuuga Kagetora, and the remaining twenty-plus Cloud Shinobi fought Konoha's forces.

The Hyuuga clan's Byakugan Gentle Fist was certainly powerful, but it relied heavily on close combat and lacked long-range attack methods, so its destructive power in group battles was not particularly great.

Yet five or six shinobi working together had actually managed to suppress Hyuuga Kagetora.

Now that the opponents had been switched, with Chiba Shin'i facing Hyuuga Kagetora while those five or six shinobi ganged up on Uchiha Mai, Hyuuga Kagetora truly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ganging up on someone?

I like being ganged up on most of all."

Uchiha Mai smiled, remaining utterly unmoved even as he faced five opponents alone.

"Lightning Style: Lightning Current."

Four shinobi entangled Uchiha Mai while one Cloud Shinobi withdrew beyond the battlefield, formed hand seals with both hands, and released chakra, drawing out bolts of lightning with his hands.

Then he raised a hand and pointed at Uchiha Mai, sending the lightning shooting toward him.

To coordinate with that shinobi's attack, the other four Cloud Shinobi all pulled back some distance, though not too far.

This both created an angle for the lightning's attack and restricted Uchiha Mai, preventing him from escaping
