The Navy warships were huge; even if two ships were used as one, they would not feel crowded.
Akainu's initiative in giving up one ship allowed the one-armed Dalmatian to remain calm.
Dalmatian had always been a shrewd and perceptive man. He had already guessed that Akainu's injuries were connected to this "Akatsuki," and if even an admiral did not dare to make a fuss, what could a vice admiral who was not even an admiral candidate do?
He should hurry onto the other ship and keep his arm frozen there. Once they returned to headquarters, they could see whether it could be reattached. If not, he would try using a mechanical arm.
"Admiral Sakazuki..."
Hina looked as though tears might fall at any moment, her large eyes fixed on Akainu as he rapidly departed.
Akainu did not even pause, decisively giving up the ship he was currently on.
He did not want to abandon a Navy officer either, but they had been the ones to attack first. Akainu was afraid that if he left too slowly, Uchiha Mai would keep him behind.
"Admiral Sakazuki, how can you just ignore Colonel Hina?!"
Some Marines protested. They had not expected one of headquarters' greatest fighting forces, an admiral, to watch helplessly as Colonel Hina fell into someone else's hands. They had been requisitioned during their mission to come support Akainu, yet after Akainu turned around, he simply ignored the people who had come to save him. It was rather chilling.
"Since you want to, then stay and keep her company."
Uchiha Mai said with a smile.
The previous batch of Akatsuki's temporary workers had already been buried at sea. They truly needed another batch now.
"Damn Bounty Hunter, release Colonel Hina!"
"Hm?"
The smile on Uchiha Mai's face grew even broader.
