"But the Human Dao is newly born!"
"I command the Human Dao, and you are the Human Race Holy Mother. If we grant Fuxi a position in the Human Dao, who could object?"
Hearing Hong Yun put it that way, Nu Wa was somewhat tempted.
Before Nu Wa could respond, Hong Yun added:
"Joining the Human Dao means severing his past ties and washing away all his karma with the Demon Race."
Although Fuxi had failed to attain the Dao, his cultivation was still formidable.

So he gave his up and stayed by Nu Wa's side, protecting her.

So he and Nu Wa lived in seclusion, never fighting Di Jun and Taiyi for authority.
