Brotherly "Love" and Hatred

Malfurion's gaze moved back and forth between Tyrande and Illidan before finally settling on the necklace Tyrande had personally handed to Illidan.

"The Goddess's will?" Malfurion sneered. "Or your own selfish motives?" The green hair atop his head drifted with anger, making him especially conspicuous.

Tyrande's expression darkened, and her fingers tightened slightly. "Malfurion, watch your words. Elune's will cannot be questioned."

Illidan stood to one side, a mocking curve tugging at his lips. "Brother, after ten thousand years, you still love making decisions for everyone else."

Malfurion's antlers trembled faintly with rage. "Shut up. I have no younger brother who sided with demons! Your very existence is a blasphemy against the Night Elves!"

Tyrande raised a hand to stop the conflict before it erupted. "Enough! Stop this pointless arguing." She turned to Malfurion, her tone softening slightly. "The Goddess's oracle must be carried out. We need Illidan's strength."

"Strength?" Malfurion scoffed. "His strength brings nothing but destruction! He once tried to harm his own people and create a second Eternal Well. That proves it!"

Illidan fell silent for a moment, then suddenly said, "If destruction can save our people, then I don't mind becoming a demon again."

Tyrande's complicated gaze fell upon Illidan. She had witnessed his madness, yet she also remembered his sacrifices. And now, the Goddess had chosen to give him another chance—or perhaps, to give her one as well.

"Malfurion," she finally said, "even if you do not trust him, the Goddess's command must be carried out."
