Background / History

Jaina is Daelin and Kathrin Proudmoore's daughter and a princess of Kul Tiras. At age eleven, she traveled through Lordaeron en route to study magic in Dalaran; the visit also served as an effort to establish a marriage alliance with Prince Arthas, who escorted her onward. She later became Antonidas's apprentice while Arthas pursued paladin training. 131

At fifteen, Jaina received a secret letter from Daelin outlining his plans for her: marry Arthas, influence Lordaeron to open its ports to Kul Tiras, and support her brother's future rule. Rather than accept being used as a political asset, she quietly began building an independent power base. 131

She manipulated Arthas into believing their relationship had been consummated, gaining the freedom to return to Dalaran. She also worked with Varian Wrynn: rumors of a possible marriage between them pressured Stormwind's nobles, while Varian provided persecuted stonemasons and supplies that became essential to Theramore's construction. 132
