It was a beautiful day, and Deren had inched down the stairs step by step.
"Good morning, Mr. Deren." Jaina greeted him meaningfully. "Today, I prepared a nourishing soup for you."

"Wow, nourishing soup. I want some too." Chromie's voice came from upstairs, followed by her long legs stepping down the stairs. She wrapped an arm around Deren, who was still leaning against the banister. "Want me to feed you? Mouth to mouth?"
