By nightfall, Jaina had finally regained her senses. Aegwynn had Deren and Onyxia enter the room.
"How do you feel?" Seeing Jaina lying in bed with her eyes open, Deren hurried over and crouched beside the bed, face-to-face with her as he asked with concern.
"It feels incredible." Jaina closed her eyes and thought for a moment. "Two different sets of memories still exist, like I had two long, different dreams. It feels as though I was merely an observer. Especially what happened last night—the feelings of those two being together. I could actually experience it from both perspectives at once."
"Heh heh." Deren could only play dumb. "Do you still feel any discomfort physically?"
"I'm exhausted!" Jaina sighed. "I never knew I could wrestle a real Black Dragon with my bare hands."
Deren guessed, "Perhaps the dragon-slaying power at the end acted on your body and consumed a tremendous amount of energy. You overexerted yourself, so you fainted. Rest well. Once you've recovered, you'll be fine. This matter can be considered over."
"Mm!" Too drained to support herself as she got up, Jaina could only lie flat on the bed.
Her beautiful eyes glanced at Deren, then at Onyxia behind him. In a soft voice, she said, "Can you hold me?"
She then explained, "It was the clone's final wish. She hoped that after I woke up, I could feel the memories of that body again. They are her memories too."
Deren looked back at the Black Dragon. She gave a soft snort, turned her head away, and pretended not to see anything.
Seeing that his old companion was a little jealous yet still tacitly allowing it, Deren could only smile wryly. He bent down, gently embraced Jaina, and lightly kissed her forehead.
"Thank you, my Deren!" Jaina whispered
