Deren continued, "Being obsessed with the decaying glory of the past is Zandalar's greatest threat. Forming an alliance with the Horde is merely huddling together for warmth with another force equally trapped in outdated thinking. In the end, you may well be swallowed by the tides of the era together."
"Then what do you think Zandalar should do?" Deren's bluntness stung Talanji, and irritation entered her voice.
Deren looked her directly in the eye and unveiled a shocking plan:
"Completely reform Zandalar's political system. Break the rigid caste system and outdated traditions."
"Abandon all contact with the Horde and join the Alliance instead. The Alliance's order, technology, and inclusiveness are better suited to Zandalar's future."
"And most importantly, gradually guide your people to convert to Elune."
"What?!" Princess Talanji sprang to her feet, her face filled with shock and fury. "Impossible! This is blasphemy! You're completely denying everything about Zandalar! Reform? Join the Alliance? And have us abandon the Loa we have worshipped for generations to believe in a Night Elf goddess?! Absolutely impossible! Rezan will never agree!"
Her body trembled slightly with extreme anger. She thought the human before her had gone completely mad.
Yet the instant her words fell—
A vast, wild will, tinged with indescribable anxiety and fear, suddenly descended upon the reception room! A gigantic, translucent dinosaur phantom—Rezan's incarnation—appeared behind Talanji.
The phantom did not look at Deren or Jaina. Instead, it unleashed a thunderous mental roar at its most loyal priestess:
[Agree to him! Talanji! Accept everything! This—this is our only chance of survival!]
The anger on Talanji's face instantly froze, turning into disbelief and terror. "Rezan?! What—what did you say?!"
Rezan's phantom appeared restless, its voice carrying a panic Talanji had never heard before.
[The times have changed! We—we Loa are no longer hunters.
