Deren walked over at once. Behind a massive boulder lay a huge creature, half its body charred black and crisp. Its head remained intact, and its enormous pincers still twitched faintly, as if it wanted to rise and fight the intruders.
One look at those pincers, and Deren knew who it was: an old "acquaintance," General Rajaxx. Well, he was "half-cooked" now.
"Let me finish him!" Varian drew Shalamayne, ready to put it out of its misery.
"No!" Deren stopped him. "We don't need to do it ourselves. This thing still has some use. It has a blood feud with Fandral Staghelm over his son's death. We'll do him a favor. Maybe settling this score will ease his burden. Get me a mage and teleport it back to Cenarion Hold."
"I'll do it!" Krasus still remembered the fighting friendship between the Red Dragon and Staghelm during the War of the Shifting Sands. He decided to handle it personally.
Soon, a flash of Teleportation Spell light passed, and the Red Dragon mage and General Rajaxx vanished.
Jaina quietly stepped forward and asked her Tactical Advisor, "Are you trying to save that Druid?"
Deren briefly explained the messy affair between Staghelm and his son, as well as the future where Staghelm would eventually fall to corruption and become the flame. He sighed and said, "He genuinely wears his heart on his sleeve, and that kind of love for a son is rare indeed among the Night Elves. Let's see if having him personally execute his son's killer can untie the knot in his heart. It will all depend on his own fortune."
While the Alliance cleared the ruins, the Horde had fallen into a brutal battle.
