At the Royal Palace of Gilneas, the nobles were gathered once more to hear the King deliver new tidings.
Genn stroked his beard as he stood before the throne, his gaze sweeping across every noble present. His posture was straight, and though he tried to conceal a trace of exhaustion, his voice remained loud and resolute.
He announced to the densely packed nobles below:
"Loyal subjects of Gilneas, I have gathered you here today to announce a momentous decision concerning the kingdom's future. Queen Kathrin of the Kul Tiras royal family has proposed marriage to your esteemed Queen Mia. She wishes for their Prince Derek to wed Princess Tess Greymane of House Greymane."
Whispers rose throughout the hall. Genn did not stop them, waiting several seconds before he continued:
"After careful consideration, I hereby announce that my daughter, Tess Greymane, will become engaged to Prince Derek Proudmoore of Kul Tiras. The two nations shall forge a steadfast alliance through this marriage!"
"As a token and guarantee of this covenant, I shall grant Duskbay Town to Tess as her personal fief, to be inherited by her descendants. Remember—it shall remain Gilnean territory, forever! A port forever guarded by the bloodline of House Greymane!"
"I know that some among you harbor doubts and confusion regarding this matter. But you all know what hardships Gilneas faces now. I do not wish to repeat those unpleasant matters during this joyous occasion. Yet today's joy also marks the beginning of joy for all Gilneas. From this day onward, everything will improve."
"The engagement ceremony will be held tonight. Though the preparations are somewhat rushed, Gilneas's blessings for this couple will not be diminished. The future lies in our hands! I have spoken!"
With that, Genn waved to the crowd below and returned to his throne.
