In the end, Genn Greymane turned his gaze to Deren. That remarkably capable young man had left a deep impression on him.
"Oh, does Your Majesty Genn have some opinion of me?" Deren met the old wolf king's gaze without panic. "You can't make the decision either?"
"Yes, Sir Deren. The situation is extremely difficult now. My subjects have suffered greatly because of the werewolves, but they are innocent. They are victims too." Genn spoke with a choked voice, silently adding that he was a victim as well.
Deren smiled. "There are really only two issues: kill Head Wolf Lalel, and deal with the infected people of Gilneas. What do you think?"
"Right! All the werewolves are now under Lalel's control. Only by killing him can my subjects regain their freedom," Genn said.
Deren rose first and walked over to Ivar. The werewolf looked weakly at the human before him, letting out a soft whine through his wolfish muzzle.
"Ivar, I have some questions that need answering. Can we talk calmly? It might help resolve the curse," Deren said.
"What do you want to ask?" Ivar had been beaten into submission by Onyxia.
"How much do you know about the Werewolf Curse?" Deren asked a strange question. "Legend says that anyone bitten by a werewolf will become one. I want to know whether every werewolf has this ability, or only certain ones. Have you ever bitten someone and turned them into a werewolf?"
Ivar froze when he heard Deren's question. Once he understood, he answered, "I can't turn those I bite into werewolves. Otherwise, all I'd need to do was hide in the royal capital, and I could create tens of thousands of werewolves within days."
