Laras's hand was tucked into Yanis's arm as the two of them strolled happily along Silvermoon City's ancient streets.
"Look, that used to be the Council of Nobles. Back then, it was filled with representatives from every family, and countless exquisite carriages were parked on the road outside. The light of magic shone in every color anyone could dream of."
As Laras listened to her introduction, he endured the strange sensation coming from his arm.
"Why do you look so pale? Are you not feeling well?" Yanis noticed that the young elf's face was flushed and thought he was unwell, so she immediately reached out to touch his forehead.
When that warm, dry hand touched his head, Laras hurriedly explained, "I'm fine. I'm fine."
"That's good! I thought I'd brought you out only to make you sick. That would've been a huge sin. Those big sisters of yours look really strong-willed at first glance. They'd eat me alive when the time came," Yanis said, still a little shaken.
Then she asked curiously, "Those big sisters of yours are very good to you, right? But the pressure on you must be enormous too, isn't it?"
Laras blushed and nodded.
Yanis covered her mouth and laughed. "I can guess. I once had a younger brother too. Back then, I always wanted to keep him under my control. I was terrified something might happen to him, and I wanted him to do everything my way. In the end, I thought he would live well, but in truth, he was in great pain."
When she spoke of the past, she suddenly changed from a cheerful big sister into a melancholy one.
Laras did not know how to comfort her either. In the end, he said, "Actually, I understand their good intentions too.
