More and more Druids emerged from the vortex. The later they came out, the less severe their injuries were. Clearly, they had let those who were more badly wounded leave the Emerald Dream first. But that was what Tyrande couldn't understand. Malfurion and the Druids had been helping the Green Dragon Queen, Ysera, guard the Emerald Dream. Though they were there to keep watch, with the Green Dragon Queen and her Green Dragon Legion present, the Druids wouldn't be on the front lines even if something happened. So why were so many Druids injured? What had happened in the Emerald Dream? Had the green dragons encountered some powerful enemy?
It had to be said: once a woman's imagination got going, it could be a terrifying thing. They could always guess the truth of a matter with uncanny accuracy.
Just as Tyrande was imagining what might have happened in the Emerald Dream, a loud dragon's roar rang across Moonlight Land. At the sound, someone deep in Moonlight Land awoke from slumber, then raced toward the source of the roar.
At the very center of the commotion—the clearing where Tyrande was waiting for Malfurion—a figure leaped out of the vortex. Tyrande recognized him at a glance. She cried out and hurried over.
"Malfurion!"
The last person to emerge from the vortex was the very one Tyrande had been waiting for: Malfurion. Compared to the Druids who had come out before him, he looked even worse. His clothes were in tatters, his body was covered in wounds and blackened spots where he'd been corroded, and one of the magnificent antlers on his head was broken.
