But before the two balls of light could carry Velen away, Kil'jaeden had already charged out.

"You two are the things that spirited Velen away, aren't you? Your power is a real headache."

A huge hole had been blasted through Kil'jaeden's back by the beam of light. Blood poured from the wound, while the lingering Holy Light steadily ate away at his demonic body.

"Sargeras's evil deeds can't be stopped because people like you help him do wrong."

A hollow voice came from within one of the balls of light.

"We Naaru travel between worlds, seeking allies willing to fight the demons alongside us. Velen refused to be led astray by Sargeras, so we helped him escape Argus."

"And you, Kil'jaeden, refuse to put your faith in the Light. Today, we will purify you here!"

The other Naaru chimed in, then charged straight at Kil'jaeden.

"Watch out!"

Seeing this, Velen shouted toward Kil'jaeden. It was unclear whether he was warning the Naaru or Kil'jaeden.

Kil'jaeden watched the Naaru charge at him and smiled faintly. He raised a hand toward the sky, and a rain of fire poured down, covering the Naaru's path.

But the Naaru wasn't afraid of the fire. Without making any visible move, a shield of light like the one Velen had conjured earlier rose around his round body, stopping every flame.

Kil'jaeden narrowed his eyes. He hadn't thought much of Velen's earlier move—it had been a casual attack—but now his rain of fire had been completely blocked. He couldn't help but reassess the Naaru.

The Naaru reached Kil'jaeden and unleashed a blast of Holy Light that had been gathering for some time.

But a mass of chains wreathed in flame appeared in front of Kil'jaeden, forming a net that intercepted the blast.
