Stromgarde was completely surrounded by Zul'jin's army. The battle had turned against Trundle's side for a time. There was no helping it: the clash between Zul'jin and Trundle could affect the entire war. Yet not long after they began fighting, Trundle gradually fell behind. On the one hand, Zul'jin had grown stronger. On the other, Trundle couldn't bring his full strength to bear. With his icy club in hand, he needed to unleash his Ice Domain to access all his power. The domain also weakened his enemies, so the two effects combined to make Trundle nearly unbeatable in a duel against an opponent of equal strength. But the Ice Domain affected everyone indiscriminately, including Trundle's own soldiers, and its effects on them were even worse than on Zul'jin's clearly abnormal troops. To protect the bigger picture, Trundle could only fight Zul'jin head-on. Fortunately, he could still use Might Makes Right to drain Zul'jin's strength and speed. After a full day of battle, he managed to edge out a narrow victory in the final moments, stabilizing the situation in Stromgarde.
But after a day of hard fighting, Trundle had come to take Zul'jin much more seriously. The trolls under Zul'jin's command had also become a greater threat. Seeing them, Trundle couldn't help thinking of the green-skinned Orcs who had swept across the Eastern Kingdoms Continent many years ago and beaten the Alliance so badly in open battle that they could barely hold their heads up. Like Zul'jin's trolls, those Orcs had been savage, warlike, bloodthirsty, and almost numb to pain. The one difference was that you could still see thought in the green-skinned Orcs' eyes. At least that proved they were still themselves, merely controlled by the negative emotions in their hearts. But Zul'jin's trolls were fanatically devoted, like religious zealots.
