Ch. 343Frontline Elders

Figo explained the limits of Lin Qi’s network-worm control and prepared to attend Wangan’s ascension funeral with Linlin, Shiraboshi, and Nami. At Wulamia Island, Luffy, Ace, and Zoro met Wangan, while Xin discovered a group of old acquaintances gathered for the funeral.

  • Ippolito learned that someone had infiltrated the merchant group's network and ordered an investigation, then told his expert to leave it alone after learning the source was near Lin Qi Merchant Group headquarters.
  • Figo reassured Lin Qi about network-worm control, and Lin Qi asked Shiraboshi to teach him; Figo then showed Nami how to use a Network worm.
  • Figo discussed the war against the Devil race with Linlin and said he would mainly act as a deterrent, then invited Linlin, Shiraboshi, and Nami to Wangan’s ascension funeral.
  • Xin brought Luffy, Ace, and Zoro to meet Wangan, who recognized the name Gol D. Roger and spoke warmly with Luffy.
  • Wangan led Xin to a gathering of old, white-haired figures, and Xin recognized several acquaintances who had come for the funeral.

Ch. 344Reunion

Fishing Lamp King Wangan gathered elders willing to hold an ascension funeral, but told them he would finish it alone and let them choose promising young people to help with the war. As Luffy, Ace, and Zoro dealt with Naika’s pursuit, Zoro unexpectedly reunited with Kuina on Ulamio Island.

  • Xin and the other elders discussed their plan to die in an ascension funeral to help keep the Devil race in check, while Wangan explained that he would perform the funeral alone and recruit promising young people instead.
  • Luffy suggested cooking boiled meat for Granny Xin, but he, Ace, and Zoro ran when they spotted Naika pursuing them.
  • Ace stopped Luffy from trying to escape the island and realized Zoro had gotten lost again.
  • Zoro lost both the brothers and Naika, then mistook Kuina for someone who merely resembled her.
  • Kuina confronted Zoro and said she had come to find him.

Ch. 345Gradually Assimilated

Figo, Nami, Linlin, and Shirahoshi reached Uramio Island to attend the Fishing Lamp King's ascension funeral. At the lodgings, Kuina bonded with Xin over swordsmanship before the arrival of Figo left Luffy, Ace, and Zoro panicking about their escape from the Marines.

  • Shirahoshi controlled the Sea Beast carrying the group toward Uramio Island, while Figo and Linlin planned to eat another Sea Beast once they arrived.
  • Kuina told Xin how Figo had taught her to choose her own path, and Xin encouraged her to become a powerful swordswoman.
  • Xin retired to her room, and Kuina ordered Zoro, Luffy, and Ace to wash the dishes after they ate too much.
  • Zoro reminded Luffy and Ace that he and Kuina had planned to find the Marines, while they insisted they were too full to move.
  • A subordinate announced that Figo had arrived, and Luffy, Ace, and Zoro jumped up in alarm before Luffy and Ace begged Zoro to help them.

Ch. 346Shoesole Stir-Fried Meat

Figo hosted Wangan before agreeing to join him on a final fishing trip, while people on Ulamio Island begged Figo to persuade Wangan not to die in his Ascension Funeral. Luffy and Ace tried to sneak away but Figo caught them and made them eat a hundred servings of shoesole stir-fry.

  • Wangan praised Linlin and Shirahoshi, asked Nami to teach him about her money-calculation Flame, and invited Figo on a two-day fishing trip.
  • A young lamp angler begged Figo to persuade Wangan to live and fight the Devil race, and Figo promised to try without committing to succeed.
  • Nami and Shirahoshi settled in for the night, while Linlin sneaked off with Figo to eat again.
  • Zoro let Luffy and Ace have a night to escape, and the brothers sailed away intending to hide nearby before returning to Ulamio Island.
  • Figo intercepted Luffy and Ace at sea while dragging a giant Sea King, then served them shoesole stir-fry ordered by Garp and demanded a hundred servings.

Ch. 347Wangan: I Have a Friend

Figo and Wangan fished together in the Sea of Lamps, and Wangan explained why he had chosen to guard Flame Star rather than join the battle. Wangan revealed that his old friend was the Skull Emperor, who came to see him before his funeral.

  • Figo and Wangan caught more than a hundred lamp cores during a morning of fishing, with Figo outperforming Wangan.
  • Wangan asked whether Figo understood his decision to stay and guard Flame Star, and Figo said he did.
  • Wangan recalled how his friend survived an ambush at fourteen that killed the other seventy-three members of his unit, then grew determined to change humanity's fate.
  • Wangan revealed that his friend was the Skull Emperor, who arrived and embraced Wangan before his funeral.
  • Figo left the old friends alone to catch up.

Ch. 349Farce

Luffy, Ace, Zoro, and Kuina joined a group planning to stop Fishing Lamp King Wangan’s ascension funeral, but they intended to prevent the would-be disruptors from ruining it. As Wangan climbed the tower, the group split into two sides, with the majority turning on the funeral’s opponents.

  • Luffy woke after his injury healed, and Ace and Zoro explained that Grandma Xin had left her savings for them to distribute.
  • Luffy, Ace, Zoro, and Kuina went to Fishing Lamp King Wangan’s residence for his ascension funeral.
  • Zam asked Kuina and her companions to join a plan to disrupt the funeral, and they agreed while secretly intending to stop the plan.
  • Zam brought them to a courtyard where forty-seven people were preparing to attack the funeral procession.
  • As Wangan began climbing the tower, thirty-nine people apologized to their allies and surrounded the thirteen who planned to disrupt the funeral.

Ch. 350Inheritance (Happy New Year!)

Fishing Lamp King Wangan used his ascension funeral to recount his promise to Skull Emperor and urge humanity to fight the Devil race instead of relying on the King of the Starry Sky. As Wangan prepared to ascend, the gathered people and the returning ancestors felt Flame Star’s resolve stir again.

  • More than 100,000 powerful figures gathered on Uramio Island as Wangan climbed the tower for his ascension funeral.
  • Wangan thanked the crowd, acknowledged those who had tried to stop him, and began telling the story of his friendship with Skull Emperor.
  • Wangan revealed that Skull Emperor had once vowed to change humanity’s circumstances, while Wangan promised to sail the Sea of Lamps in peace; Skull Emperor later achieved only half his goal of destroying the Devil race.
  • Wangan challenged the crowd for relying on the King of the Starry Sky and warned that the Devil race could attack anywhere on Flame Star, urging people to go to war.
  • Sixteen aged human ancestors rose into the air, and Skull Emperor recognized the return of humanity’s familiar resolve.

Ch. 351The Four's Resolve

Sixteen elders performed an ascension funeral, but Wangan helped them send their lamps to chosen successors instead of the sky. After Xin entrusted her legacy to Kuina and the others received their lamps, Luffy and his companions resolved to fight the Devil race.

  • Xin entrusted her cane-shaped sword to Kuina as the sixteen elders drew their sixty-four lamps close.
  • The elders hurled their lamps toward the ground, provoking the kings' lamps to attack them.
  • Wangan protected the elders and stopped the kings' lamps from attacking, allowing the sixty-four lamps to reach the ground.
  • The sixteen elders died, and Luffy, Ace, Zoro, and Kuina accepted four lamps representing swordsmanship, physique, Armament, and Mantra.
  • Luffy called on Ace, Zoro, and Kuina to fight the Devil race, and all three agreed.

Ch. 352The Roaring Giant Beast

Shirahoshi sensed a colossal Sea King responding to the Flame-bearing ceremony, and Figo took her across the sea to find it. They failed to locate the creature, while Wangan completed his ascension funeral and died; a beast more than 100,000 meters long swam away beneath the sea.

  • Shirahoshi heard a distant Sea King calling as Wangan and the other seniors drew in their Flames, and Sea Kings gathered offshore around her.
  • Figo shielded Shirahoshi and carried her toward the source of the cry after she pointed out its direction.
  • Wangan told the gathered kings he would let his Flame ascend to heaven, exchanged a farewell with Barrellu, and died as his five Flames rose into the sky.
  • Figo searched the surrounding sea with Shirahoshi but found no sign of the creature, which she sensed had disappeared.
  • A gigantic oval-shadowed creature over 100,000 meters long swam from the seabed several thousand miles to the southwest.

Ch. 354The Matter Was Settled

After Wangan’s funeral, the Skull Emperor assigned his disciples to join the Flame Army and discussed with Figo a hidden level-six Sea Beast tied to Ship Spirits. Figo left Ulamio Island with Nami and Shiraboshi for the Merman Kingdom, while Luffy and the others chose to join the war.

  • Wangan’s disciples agreed to join the Flame Army and escort Wangan and the sixteen elders’ remains to Capri aboard the Meuti.
  • Figo told the Skull Emperor that his spiritual precognition had warned him of a level-six Sea Beast near the funeral.
  • The Skull Emperor revealed that he had sensed an outside threat when he briefly possessed six flames, and that Seherl, a Ship Spirit, had shared the warning.
  • Figo concluded that the Sea Beast had been level six for at least six hundred years and planned to search for it while investigating the Merman Kingdom.
  • Figo asked Luffy and the other three whether they would join the war, and they firmly agreed.
  • Figo left Ulamio Island with Nami and Shiraboshi, bound for the Merman Kingdom.

Ch. 355The Old Fish-Man

Merman King Norton and Fish-Man King Genin discussed Wangan’s death, Shiraboshi, and the Starry Sky King’s likely arrival, while growing concerned about the Demon General Baru’s search for allies. Baru mistook an ancient-looking Fish-Man cleaner for a hidden Demon General, but Genin’s investigation left Norton shaken by the cleaner’s apparent agelessness.

  • Norton showed Genin a photograph of Shiraboshi and discussed her resemblance to the Merman Queen, then warned that the Starry Sky King might visit and asked Genin to watch Baru.
  • Baru recalled Figo’s overwhelming victories and, fearing the Demon race’s decline, began searching among Merman royalty for hidden Demon Generals.
  • Baru went to the sacrificial hall to find Loulan and nearly collided with an old Fish-Man who had served as its cleaner for as long as Baru could remember.
  • The old Fish-Man told Baru not to hurry, and Baru took his words as a warning from a senior Demon General before going on to find his mother.
  • Genin used Mantra to inspect the cleaner and asked Norton whether he remembered him; Norton realized the Fish-Man had looked just as old when Norton was a child.

Ch. 356Missing

Figo and his companions traveled to the Merman Kingdom after testing Shiraboshi’s ability on a Level 5 Sea King. On the way in, Oskel revealed that Merman King Norton and Lord Genin had mysteriously vanished, leaving Figo to enter the kingdom and investigate.

  • Figo visited Bashtosh and took a huge chunk of flesh after Shiraboshi failed to control the Level 5 Sea King.
  • Figo, Linlin, Shiraboshi, and Nami ate the Sea King meat, then continued toward the Merman Kingdom.
  • Oskel welcomed them at the Bripichi Tree and gave the women its sap to protect them from deep-sea pressure.
  • Oskel told Figo that Norton and Genin had vanished without a trace three days earlier.
  • Figo and the others applied the sap, boarded a bubble ship, and descended toward the Merman Kingdom.

Ch. 357Mother and Son

Figo arrived at the Merman Kingdom with Shirahoshi and began investigating the disappearance of Kings Norton and Genin. Baru feared Figo would uncover his connection to the case, but Loulan went to Figo and accused her son of being involved.

  • Figo, Shirahoshi, and their companions reached the palace, where Prince Pry asked Figo to find the missing kings.
  • Pry said Norton and Genin had recently met in private, and Figo used his chain to check Pry before asking him to spread news of Figo's arrival.
  • Baru learned Figo had come and worried that his earlier actions had exposed the old Fish-Man and endangered the senior Demon General.
  • Baru refused Loulan's suggestion that they ask Figo about Xiuba, then told her to visit the temple alone.
  • Loulan secretly went to Figo and reported that Baru might have had something to do with the kings' disappearance.

Ch. 358The Twists of Fate

Loulan’s mistaken accusation led Figo and Pry to the Temple of Sacrifice, where they discovered that its longtime cleaner, Grat, was a Devil race Progenitor who had secretly shaped events for millennia. Grat revealed his role in several major schemes and threatened the Fish-Man Kingdom as Figo prepared to face him.

  • Loulan wrongly accused Pry and the High Priest of conspiring with Baru to imprison Norton and Genin, but Figo revealed that Baru was a Devil race member who had replaced her real son, who had died long ago.
  • Figo and Pry went to the Temple of Sacrifice, where they found Grat, a cleaner who had remained unchanged for more than 1,100 years.
  • Grat exposed his Devil race identity and said he had sent Donal, later known as Ami, and Belle, later known as the Holy Demon King, into the wider world.
  • Grat revealed that he had trapped Rilrentov for nearly two centuries and arranged for a successor to establish Celestial Dragon Star.
  • Grat transformed and threatened to turn the Fish-Man Kingdom upside down if Figo tried to kill him, while Figo accepted the challenge.

Ch. 359The Space-Time Corridor

Figo recognized Glatt’s Time-element ability as a Space-Time Corridor that trapped its targets in repeating stretches of time. After testing its limits and using his presence inside the corridor to restrain fighters outside it, Figo forced Glatt to end the ability and was sent flying when Glatt attacked him.

  • Pry and Jimora left Figo to confront Glatt, but Figo’s punch made Glatt vanish and revealed that the scene was changing in a loop.
  • Pry repeatedly experienced the same conversation with Glatt and eventually warned Figo that Glatt was up to something.
  • Figo identified the Space-Time Corridor’s limits, including that he could not open the Prison Archives while trapped inside it.
  • Figo appeared over the plaza and used chains and the Devil race Progenitor’s sealing power to restrain the assembled Fish-Man and merfolk fighters.
  • Figo explained that Glatt had trapped several people in separate corridors and challenged him to keep the ability active, so Glatt canceled it.
  • Glatt attacked Figo with a red-and-black fist, smashing through the Shrine Hall and sending Figo flying.

Ch. 360Figo's Friendship, Love, and Family

Figo trapped Glatt in Deathmatch Prison and repeatedly escaped Glatt’s Memory Corridor by revisiting memories of Yato, Miya, and Teacher Doug. The chapter left Glatt baffled and exhausted as Figo thanked him for the memories.

  • Figo sealed Glatt inside Deathmatch Prison, preventing him from escaping or threatening the Fish-Man Kingdom’s civilians.
  • Glatt used Memory Corridor to trap Figo in a memory of Yato’s death, but Figo escaped without trying to change what happened.
  • Glatt sent Figo into a memory of Miya, and Figo escaped after acknowledging their unspoken regret about their relationship.
  • Glatt broke through the chains, but Figo grabbed him and threw him back into the prison.
  • Glatt trapped Figo in a memory of Teacher Doug’s hospital visit, where Figo took Miya’s hand and made Doug happy by revealing their relationship.
  • Figo escaped once more and thanked Glatt, leaving Glatt exhausted and bewildered.

Ch. 361Capture Glatt

Figo defeated Glatt after Glatt escaped into a time loop, then freed the Fish-Man Kingdom’s leaders and prisoners. Glatt was imprisoned, while Norton left to calm the kingdom’s people.

  • Glatt used his time-loop ability to vanish from Figo’s attack, but Figo tore through space and time to pull him back and crush his neck.
  • Figo slammed Glatt into the ground and bound him with chains.
  • Pry and Jimora reappeared in the ruined sacrificial hall, while Norton and Genin emerged from their three-day imprisonment.
  • Norton and Genin realized Glatt’s ability had ended and thanked Figo for rescuing them.
  • Figo told Norton to calm the Fish-Man Kingdom’s people, then opened Glatt’s prisoner file.

Ch. 362The Origin of Teach's Heart

Figo exposed High Priest Jimora as a Devil General who had worked with Glatt to advance Lucifer’s plans. Her revelations linked Figo’s bloodline power to the Devil King and led him to realize that Teach, not himself, had inherited the Devil General’s power.

  • Figo chose Devil Royal Power after defeating Glatt, then ordered Genin to lock down the Merman Kingdom in case other Devils were hiding there.
  • Figo accused Jimora of secretly working with Glatt, and she admitted she had served the Devil race for more than 1,300 years.
  • Jimora revealed that her mission had been to help the Devil King locate the Blue Sea and produce a Devil General there to destroy the Kings’ bloodline legacy.
  • Jimora claimed Figo was a Devil General with the Devil King’s bloodline and that his sealing chains matched Lucifer’s power.
  • Figo rejected Jimora’s claim about himself and realized Teach had inherited the Devil General’s power, making him the seventy-third Devil General after Baru.

Ch. 363Sacrifice (Writer's Block, One 3,000-Word Update to Stay Alive)

Teach infiltrated the Devil race on Flame Star after awakening a third ability, while Figo dealt with the devils inside the Merman Kingdom and attempted the Merman Queen’s ritual. The ritual led Figo to a colossal Sea Beast rather than the Merman Queen, and he was forced to retreat after it sensed him.

  • Teach secretly joined the Devil race aboard a ship, and its members suspected him but decided to let Lord Baroyshi test him.
  • Teach reflected that his third ability and changing bloodline had driven him to investigate his connection to Lucifer without telling Figo.
  • Figo captured Jimora and Baru, executed Glat, and learned that at least five devils had escaped the Merman Kingdom while others might remain hidden.
  • Figo asked Norton to let Shirahoshi assist in the Merman Queen’s ritual, then used her blood and the Queen’s blood to seek the Queen’s power through Pulse Seeking.
  • Figo’s consciousness was diverted to an enormous turtle-like Sea Beast, which roared at him and forced him to withdraw before he could obtain the power to control Sea Beasts.

Ch. 364The War Escalates

The Devil race launched its first major surprise attack in human waters, striking Tuxin Island and escalating the war. Figo left the Merman Kingdom with Princess Loulan as both sides prepared for wider fighting.

  • Owen asked to join Began's Demon Extermination Group, but Began refused because Owen still had parents to find and could not risk dying.
  • Saltos attacked Tuxin Island with an elite force, and Began led his group against the Devil race.
  • Bambri and Cassius arrived, gravely wounded Saltos, and killed the Devil race attackers; hundreds died and more than a thousand humans were subjected to Gene Transformation.
  • Figo told Norton he would leave the Merman Kingdom and asked to take the Merman Queen's remaining blood; Norton agreed that Figo could take all but one drop.
  • Figo departed with Princess Loulan while Norton led the Fish-Man army, and the Devil race and Flame Army launched attacks across the Sea of Lamps.
