So what had brought an Archer this powerful here? Cold sweat covered Waver's entire body. Rider's mana had yet to fully recover; if a battle broke out now, things would be disastrous for their side.
Just then, a strong, powerful hand rested on Waver's shoulder. Waver turned around and saw Rider's resolute face.
Waver's taut nerves relaxed. Rider seemed to possess an overwhelmingly powerful presence; simply standing beside him gave one an inexplicable sense of security. Even knowing that the arrival was the strongest of the Servants, he did not feel afraid.
"Hey, Archer, you scared my Master," Rider called loudly toward the window. "And hiding in the shadows isn't how a king should act. As the King of Heroes, surely you won't disgrace the word 'king'!"
"Wretch, you certainly have a nerve!" Golden spiritual particles flooded the entire room, and the intense radiance dyed the cramped space in the color of gold. The golden king materialized in physical form, standing loftily above them, the corners of his mouth always carrying a trace of disdain. Even his gaze made it seem as though he were looking down on everyone.
"Archer, if you came to drink and chat with me, then stop making that sour face." Rider picked up a can of beer from the table and gave it a shake. "If you came to fight, then let's find somewhere quiet and settle this once and for all."
"That kind of cheap liquor was enough after one taste." Archer sneered contemptuously, openly scorning Rider's choice to serve beer. "It seems you wretch know nothing about wine."
"Really? I think it's quite good. Much better than what we had in my era." Seeing that Archer was unwilling to drink the beer, Rider simply pulled the tab and drank deeply himself.
