Ch. 481Bibi Dong's new plan
Key plot points and events
- Qin Yuan helps Lou Gao and the Blacksmith Association escape Gengxin City after they join the Golden Saber Shop. Niu Gao’s prepared carriages carry them out, and the party vanishes once clear of the city. Qin Yuan later catches up and escorts them, protecting the blacksmiths and their potential contribution to soul-tool technology.
- In Gengxin City, Qin Yuan kills most of Spirit Hall’s corrupt operatives, including the ringleaders, but spares those who were uninvolved or whose crimes did not merit death. He warns the survivors to change their ways. The townspeople want to honor him, but he disappears.
- Qin Yuan expects Spirit Hall to learn that he has turned against it and does not try to conceal his role. He believes his strength is sufficient to oppose Spirit Hall, though he recognizes that ending its influence and bringing peace will require him to become a god.
- At the Papal Palace, Bibi Dong learns that Qin Yuan has openly broken with Spirit Hall. Her anger stems less from the deaths of Miles and the other subordinates than from the realization that Qin Yuan had planned his departure without her knowledge.
- Bibi Dong goes to the Worship Hall to seek support for her plans in Heaven Dou City. Qian Daoliu agrees to cooperate, but insists that Qian Renxue’s safety is paramount and that she must return to Spirit Hall whether the plan succeeds or fails.
- Qin Yuan’s intervention has destroyed Bibi Dong’s foothold outside Heaven Dou City, forcing her to revise her plans against the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Several enshrined elders volunteer to confront Sword Dao Chenxin, hoping the fight will help them advance.
Character developments and interactions
- Qin Yuan makes his break with Spirit Hall decisive and public. His actions combine harsh justice toward proven offenders with mercy for lesser or uninvolved survivors, and he takes personal responsibility for protecting Lou Gao’s group.
- Bibi Dong sees Qin Yuan’s departure as a betrayal by a trusted ally and responds by seeking cooperation from the Worship Hall, despite her hostility toward its angel lineage.
- Hu Liena is torn between her two teachers. Now being drawn into Spirit Hall’s administration, she must confront the fact that Qin Yuan and Bibi Dong are on opposing sides.
- Qian Daoliu recognizes Qin Yuan’s exceptional potential and regrets not recruiting him earlier. He nevertheless places Qian Renxue’s safety above Bibi Dong’s plans.
- The enshrined elders reveal their divisions: some resist helping Bibi Dong, while Qian Jun, Demon Subduing, and Light Feather are eager for a chance to test themselves against Chenxin.
