Viscount Malgani's expression did not change. He nodded earnestly. "I'm sure. You saw it yourself just now. If my army hadn't been running out of steam, we'd have already broken through the defensive line."
An almost imperceptible sneer crossed Abyssal Motivator Dulta's lips. If he hadn't been secretly conspiring with the other demon nobles and promptly ordered the attack to stop, that great achievement would have gone to someone else.

He congratulated himself silently and began to believe Viscount Malgani's words.
After considering it for a moment, Abyssal Motivator Dulta asked, "When do you think would be the best time to attack?"
Viscount Malgani answered without hesitation. "The sooner, the better. While the enemy lacks supplies and is exhausted, we should take them out right in front of us."
Then he added, "The best time is now."
As he spoke, his eyes darted about, as though he didn't dare meet anyone's gaze.
Now? Abyssal Motivator Dulta looked thoughtful. He keenly noticed the other man's restless eyes, and suspicion stirred within him.
Would this man really be kind enough to tell me how to defeat the enemy? I just took away his chance to earn a great achievement!
After a long while, Abyssal Motivator Dulta gave a light laugh and said, "That won't do!"
Then he launched into an explanation. "Our troops have just suffered several crushing defeats, and their morale is low. The enemy, meanwhile, has won several battles and is riding high."
"Though I have little experience leading troops, I understand these basic principles. With one side rising as the other falls, our army would be at a disadvantage
