Background / History
Renard was originally a veteran game otaku from Huaxia Nation on Earth. While creating a character in Mount & Blade, he accidentally contacted a faulty power strip after spilling mineral water, lost consciousness, and transmigrated into a medieval world. He awakened half a month later in the body of Renard Hamilton, the notorious son of Baron Hamilton, whose prior cruelty had made the people of Saint Brieuc Fortress celebrate his apparent death 5.
After merging with the body's memories, Renard completed the System's character creation as a male declining nobleman and former noble squire driven by a desire for power and wealth. The Mount & Blade System then formally activated within his mind 5.
He initially used System quests and his father's lackeys to rebuild his public image, gain followers, and secure his standing against Gilbert. He later left Saint Brieuc Fortress, worked as a mercenary, trained under Colliver and Alice, and developed from a novice swordsman into a major military and political force 13 39 60 63 150.
Renard eventually rebuilt and commanded Meredith Earl's Territory, fought demon forces, established an intelligence network, and became a central figure in the kingdom's struggle against demons 328 394 647. During a journey to Lorrain, he learned that Queen Rosa and Hamilton were his birth parents 580.
Personality
Renard is pragmatic, ambitious, and intensely motivated by personal power. His early decisions are frequently driven by self-preservation, wealth, and the desire to surpass rivals; he prioritizes Agility when preparing to adventure because escape matters more to him than defeating every enemy 33 40.
He is also strategic and adaptable. He exploits System loopholes, turns quests into political opportunities, builds loyal networks, and favors dependable subordinates over merely capable ones 13 184 418. In battle, he remains composed enough to set traps or adopt defensive tactics against superior opponents 152 158.
Despite manipulative and occasionally ruthless behavior, Renard repeatedly shows responsibility toward those under his protection. He funds his lackeys' education, saves Ford at great expense, arranges care for Betty and a nanny, and places family safety before his own campaign plans 39 129 185 615.
