"Ken-kun~ Over here!" As soon as Ken Kaneki exited the subway, he saw Satsuki Momoi waving enthusiastically at him. Today, Satsuki Momoi was dressed differently from her usual sporty attire; in her kimono, she exuded an air of delicate beauty, making one want to protect her.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Ken Kaneki hurried over to Satsuki Momoi's side. Seeing her expectant expression, he scratched his head sheepishly.
"It's okay, I just got here too." Satsuki Momoi smiled brightly at Ken Kaneki. "Let's go to Ginza to buy you a kimono first, then we'll go to Akihabara, and watch the fireworks tonight. How does that sound?"
"Um... do we really have to wear kimonos? Actually, I'm not a big fan of wearing them." Ken Kaneki looked at Satsuki Momoi with some hesitation.
"Huh? Why?" Satsuki Momoi tilted her head adorably. "I mean, it's okay if you don't want to wear one, but wearing a kimono would feel more ceremonial..."
"Because I feel kimonos are a bit too tight... I prefer a looser, more casual style." Ken Kaneki couldn't possibly say that he felt psychologically uncomfortable wearing a kimono, so he just made up an excuse.
"Now that you mention it, Ken-kun, I know an auntie who runs a Hanfu shop..." Satsuki Momoi suggested. "Let me take you there. You have such a great build, Ken-kun, you'd look amazing in Hanfu too~"
"Eh? There's a shop like that in Chiyoda?" Ken Kaneki sounded curious.
"Of course there is! Let's go, I'll take you." Satsuki Momoi grabbed Ken Kaneki's wrist and prepared to leave.
"Ah? Oh, coming." Ken Kaneki followed behind Satsuki Momoi, as tense as a puppet.
"Welcome!" After about half an hour of walking, in a small alley, Ken Kaneki saw the Hanfu shop Satsuki Momoi had mentioned.
"Auntie, I'm back!" As soon as Satsuki Momoi entered the shop, she happily greeted the proprietress, looking like a regular customer.
"Oh, it's Little Peach! What style are you looking to buy this time?" the proprietress said with a smile.
"It's not for me this time, it's for my friend~" Satsuki Momoi pulled Ken Kaneki, who was staring blankly at the clothes in the shop, over. "Pick out a looser one for him."
"Little Peach, did you bring your boyfriend to pick out clothes~?" the proprietress teased, appraising them slyly.
"No, Auntie... we're just very good friends..." Satsuki Momoi blushed and secretly glanced at Ken Kaneki. The moment their eyes met, they both looked away again.
"Okay, okay, just friends." The proprietress watched them with a fond, aunt-like smile and pointed to a black cloak. "If you want something looser, I recommend this one. It looks very elegant overall, and this young man's build is just right. Would you like to try it on?"
"Okay, this one." Ken Kaneki's eyes lit up at the sight of the cloak. He paid promptly and went into the fitting room to change.
Before long, Ken Kaneki emerged from the fitting room, smiling as he looked at himself. "How is it? Does it look okay?" he asked Satsuki Momoi.
Enhanced by the cloak, Ken Kaneki, who was already tall, appeared exceptionally elegant and refined. Satsuki Momoi blushed as she looked at him, quickly turning her head away to pretend to examine the nearby clothes, muttering, "It's... it's okay."
The proprietress was much more direct. "This young man has such a great build and presence! If it's not too much trouble, would you be willing to pose for a few photos for our GG? We can give you this outfit for free."
"Sure!" Ken Kaneki readily agreed.
"Thank you for visiting~"
After the photoshoot, the moon had already begun to rise above the willow branches. Ken Kaneki felt like his whole body was falling apart after posing all afternoon, but seeing Satsuki Momoi curiously looking around in front of him, he perked up and followed her.
On this gentle summer night, the air in Tokyo was filled with the faint scent of fireworks and a sweet aroma. Under the intermingling moonlight and neon lights, the streets of Akihabara were adorned with various paper lanterns, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.
As they walked, Satsuki Momoi was drawn in by the aroma from a snack stall.
"Ken-kun, these things look really good. Want to try some?" Satsuki Momoi asked Ken Kaneki shyly.
Ken Kaneki followed the direction Satsuki Momoi was pointing. Ahead were stalls selling all sorts of summer-exclusive treats, from cotton candy to shaved ice, to takoyaki. The aroma of delicious food filled the air above Akihabara.
"I'm fine with anything. I'm actually a bit hungry too," Ken Kaneki said with a smile.
"Mhm~" Satsuki Momoi nodded excitedly and pulled Ken Kaneki, weaving through the stalls, trying almost all the food on the street.
"This is so good~" Satsuki Momoi looked at the finished food containers with a lingering taste, glancing around for more. But thinking of Ken Kaneki beside her, she shyly looked at him. "Hey, Ken-kun, are you full?"
"I'm alright. If you haven't had enough, you can pick out a bit more," Ken Kaneki chuckled.
"I've had almost enough, Ken-kun. I'm not Little Violet, after all~" Satsuki Momoi waved her hand with a smile. "Shall we walk around a bit more together?"
"Emmm... I don't want to walk anymore, I want to go home." Ken Kaneki grumbled inwardly, feeling for the first time that even a demigod's body couldn't withstand accompanying a girl shopping...
But when Ken Kaneki saw Satsuki Momoi's expectant expression, he finally stood up, putting on a gentle smile. "Okay, as long as you're happy."
Accompanied by Ken Kaneki, Satsuki Momoi walked along, looking at everything with curiosity. When they reached an alley hung with colorful banners, Satsuki Momoi stopped, her gaze caught by an exquisite paper lantern. Seeing this, Ken Kaneki smiled, walked closer, gently picked up the lantern, and handed it to Satsuki Momoi, saying softly, "Do you like it? Take it if you do~"
Satsuki Momoi took the lantern, her eyes sparkling with joy and emotion. They looked at each other and smiled, no words needed.
"Whoosh~ Bang!"
A sudden sound broke their thoughts.
"Hey, hey, Ken-kun, look! Fireworks! They're so pretty!" Satsuki Momoi looked in the direction of the sound as a brilliant firework bloomed in the sky.
"Yeah, they're really pretty," Ken Kaneki said, looking up at the sky with a sigh, as if talking about the fireworks, or perhaps about Satsuki Momoi before him.
They stood together in the middle of the crowd, gazing up at the brilliant fireworks blooming in the night sky. Each burst of fireworks seemed like an elevation of their feelings, dazzling and fleeting, yet unforgettable. Satsuki Momoi quietly moved closer to Ken Kaneki, their shoulders brushing lightly, as if the whole world stood still at that moment.
On this magical summer night, in Akihabara's Summer Festival, Ken Kaneki and Satsuki Momoi wove together their beautiful memories, their youthful and sweet affection quietly blooming amidst the fireworks and lights.
"I had a really great time today, Ken-kun," Satsuki Momoi murmured, looking at Ken Kaneki's profile.
A faint blush appeared on Ken Kaneki's face as he replied shyly, "Me too, I had a great time... And, the moon is beautiful too."
They're together, they're together~
Bēng Bēng isn't very good at writing romance scenes, but I still wanted to write a ceremonial scene for the male and female leads to confirm their relationship~
