"Tetsu, have you heard of misdirection?" Ken Kaneki sighed as he looked at the anxious Daiki Aomine and the helpless Tetsuya Kuroko in front of him.
"Misdirection?" Kuroko and Aomine stared at Kaneki, completely bewildered. They had no idea what he was getting at.
"Simply put, misdirection can generally be divided into three types: psychological, temporal, and visual." Kaneki casually spun the basketball in his hands as he explained. "Today, I want to focus on visual misdirection."
"...Kaneki-kun, could you please explain what you mean more clearly?" Kuroko seemed to have an inkling, but he was still missing that final piece. He couldn't quite understand what Kaneki was trying to say.
"Ah..." Kaneki let out a long sigh and scratched his head. "Visual misdirection is a technique magicians often use. It's hard to explain in words, so I'll demonstrate. Then you'll understand."
Kaneki walked over to Kuroko and patted him on the shoulder. Suddenly, he looked behind Kuroko and exclaimed in surprise, "Oh, Coach Platinum! What are you doing here?"
Everyone turned to look behind Kuroko, but there was nothing there. Coach Platinum was nowhere to be seen.
"What's the big deal, Kaneki? There's no one out there..." Aomine scoffed and turned back to complain to Kaneki, but Kaneki was nowhere to be seen.
"I'm over here." Kaneki's voice came from beneath the shadow of the basketball hoop. "Doesn't this feel familiar?"
"Now that you mention it, Ken-chan did feel a lot like Kuro-chin just now..." Atsushi Murasakibara scratched his head thoughtfully. "He just appeared and disappeared out of nowhere... One moment you're not paying attention, and he's gone..."
"Not paying attention... and he... disappears?" A flash of insight seemed to cross Kuroko's mind, and his expression changed at once.
"Judging by your expression, you've figured it out too, right?"
