The dull, tedious life went on for four straight days. Bruce finally broke free from the cycle of eating, researching documents, then eating again after researching.
In the library, he looked over the files he had organized and nodded in satisfaction.
"There is almost no other data to be found on the Amazons. I also scanned the area with the Batplane. There really are no other hidden documents on Amazon territory."
After saying that, he sighed and casually picked up a chunk of fish and meat from the plate beside him, chewing a couple bites.
Pulling all-nighters without rest was something he had long grown accustomed to.
But with Darkseid's pressure hanging over him now, he was indeed far more exhausted than before.
He immediately decided to return to Gotham and rest for a day before continuing his work on the Atlantis records.
With that in mind, he contacted his excellent butler, Alfred.
A moment later, the call connected, and Alfred's gentle voice entered Bruce's ears.
"You have been gone for four days straight. It took me quite some effort to fabricate reports claiming that Wayne had gone to China to inspect the market."
"I knew you would find a way. Besides, Amazon's records lean heavily toward mythology. I had to analyze them repeatedly before obtaining this relatively accurate data and list of Apokolips personnel."
After saying that, Bruce thought for a moment before quietly asking a question.
"Did anything change in Gotham while I was away?"
"Nothing in Gotham. Perhaps because of the Sun God's radiance a week ago, Arkham has been very quiet lately.
"However, I must tell you that Metropolis appears to be facing a small problem."
"Hmm?!!"
Alfred's words startled Bruce completely.
"What happened in Metropolis? Damn it, it had better not involve Clark's mother, Martha!"
