Amid Black Noir's manic laughter,
Homelander's face turned completely dark!
Unlike his earlier anger and the sickening realization that he had been cloned by the higher-ups,
what Black Noir had said a moment ago had truly pierced the softest part of Homelander's heart!
Once upon a time, although Homelander had a fiery temper because his powers were too great,
under the guidance of many elders back then, he had also possessed an intense desire to become a hero, to be admired by everyone!
Even now, even when he killed without blinking, Homelander still did everything he could to maintain his heroic image before the public!
To preserve that image, he could even endure the suspicions of countless reporters and the people who infuriated him at so many public events!
In short, Homelander truly wanted to be a hero!
But Homelander now knew perfectly well that he was not cut out to be one.
Because he had long developed the habit of doing whatever he pleased and tormenting lives.
But how had he developed those habits?
Because he had discovered long ago that he had schizophrenia, and would occasionally do horrifying things without realizing it at all!
Back then, no matter how hard he tried to control himself, he could not completely stop what he believed was his second personality from appearing!
So, in order to deal with his second personality, Homelander consulted a psychiatrist, and the doctor's advice was... to let it out in moderation!
And so, Homelander completely embarked on the hypocritical path he walked today...
But now, when Homelander realized that he had never had any evil second personality at all!
The things he thought his second personality had done while controlling him had actually all been done by Black Noir while wearing his face!!!
