Ch. 242You Will Die

Hela, Thor, Loki, and the Asgardian warriors joined the battle at Kandor City, where Clark recovered and helped defend the city after Mjolnir healed him. As Heisenberg continued holding Darkseid inside a shrinking sphere, he set a fifteen-minute deadline to kill him before the Kryptonians awakened.

  • Hela led the Asgardian warriors in surrounding Kandor City and keeping the Dark Parademons out.
  • Bruce identified Kandor City as the team’s target and led the Amazons and Kryptonians toward it.
  • Clark recovered after absorbing sunlight, caught Mjolnir, and was healed by its divine power before returning it to Thor.
  • Clark joined the defense of Kandor City and slaughtered Parademons as the Asgardian and Divine Kingdom forces converged.
  • Heisenberg told Darkseid that the Kryptonians would awaken in fifteen to twenty minutes and vowed to kill him within fifteen.

Ch. 243Getting Bigger? Getting Smaller? I'll Play Along!

Heisenberg fought Darkseid with a neutron sphere and then attacked him at colossal scale, but Darkseid repeatedly escaped by changing his size. Heisenberg’s flames devastated the remaining ruins of Huihe Star, while the Divine Kingdom spacecraft shielded his allies.

  • Darkseid escaped Heisenberg’s neutron sphere by using Omega Sight to tear open space, but Heisenberg pulled him back and compressed the sphere into a small, spinning projectile.
  • Darkseid grew to over three hundred thousand kilometers tall and blocked Heisenberg’s neutron sphere, losing his right hand and part of his arm before regenerating.
  • Heisenberg used the sphere, Gungnir, Heat Vision, and magma-bound Chaos Blades to attack Darkseid at close range.
  • Darkseid enlarged himself to blunt Heisenberg’s strike to his eye, so Heisenberg grew into a flaming giant over two million kilometers tall and grabbed him.
  • Darkseid shrank away from Heisenberg’s grip, and Heisenberg dispersed his flaming body, scorching and shattering the remaining ruins of Huihe Star.
  • The Divine Kingdom spacecraft enveloped Heisenberg’s allies in gravity particles, while the Parademons on Huihe Star were caught in the devastation.

Ch. 244Darkseid's Skull

Heisenberg fought Darkseid in a brutal battle that devastated Huihe Star’s star system and left both warriors gravely damaged. Heisenberg severed Darkseid’s regenerating head and trapped it in a Chaos ring, naming the new Divine Artifact “Darkseid’s Skull.”

  • Heisenberg charged Darkseid and overwhelmed him with relentless attacks, while their battle threw Huihe Star’s star system into turmoil.
  • Heisenberg and Darkseid rapidly drained their energy reserves as Heisenberg hurled crushed planets at his opponent and Darkseid drew power from Apokolips and his other multiversal selves.
  • After seven or eight minutes, nearly all of Huihe Star’s star system had been destroyed, and Darkseid asked whether Heisenberg meant to fight until both were exhausted.
  • Heisenberg pierced Darkseid’s eye sockets and blasted his brain with Heat Vision as Darkseid smashed open Heisenberg’s chest and crushed his heart.
  • Heisenberg severed Darkseid’s head, threw his body into his pocket, and used the Chaos Blades to keep cutting the regenerating head inside a magma ring.
  • Heisenberg named the new Divine Artifact “Darkseid’s Skull,” and Darkseid told him to fuck off.

Ch. 245Are You Hela, Loki's Daughter?

Heisenberg returned from defeating Darkseid to find the allied forces joking and arguing, until Hippolyta challenged Hela and revealed a confusing claim about her parentage. Superman and Thor then recognized each other as characters from comics and movies, leaving the Justice League bewildered.

  • Heisenberg carried the defeated Darkseid back to the allied forces and surveyed the surviving fighters below.
  • Hela scolded Drogon for eating Parademons, while Loki and Thor joked with her and the Justice League watched in disbelief.
  • Hippolyta approached the Asgardians and clashed with Sif and Hela over their peoples’ histories and whether they had been enemies in the war of the gods.
  • Hippolyta claimed Hela was Loki’s daughter, prompting Hela and the Asgardians to stare at Loki as he denied it and argued that Hela was his elder sister.
  • Superman and Thor recognized each other from comics and movies, and Victor confirmed that Thor and Loki were fictional characters in his database.

Ch. 246The Ones Who Always Died Were Earthlings

Heisenberg defeated Darkseid and Mantis, then returned with the warriors to Mogo planet. He discovered that people on Earth were protesting Superman and the gods over the deaths of their children.

  • Diana introduced herself to Hela, while Thor and Clark made peace after discussing their stories.
  • Bruce worried that humanity would reject a god once its outside enemies were gone.
  • Heisenberg forced the Omega Energy out of Darkseid, devoured it, and destroyed Darkseid's existence in that universe.
  • Heisenberg subdued Mogo, pursued and killed Mantis, then returned with Mogo and the warriors to Earth.
  • Heisenberg saw protesters in Metropolis blaming Superman and the gods for the deaths of Earthling children.

Ch. 247Why Don't You Just Die

Heisenberg defended Clark against the Metropolis protesters and stopped Fiona from carrying out a deadly order, giving Clark three minutes to handle the crisis. Clark went to apologize to the bereaved families, but they struck him as Lois realized that Superman had died in the hearts of Metropolis's people.

  • A mother told reporters she blamed neither Clark nor Superman for her child’s death but wanted him to face the families’ grief, and Clark recognized the incident had happened while he was training on Themyscira.
  • Heisenberg told Clark he was not responsible for the kindergarten fire and condemned him for apologizing, then ordered Fiona to eliminate the protesters.
  • Clark’s sudden surge of power prompted Heisenberg to recall Fiona and give Clark three minutes to resolve the situation; Clark flew to Metropolis with Bruce.
  • Bruce left to fetch equipment, while Clark approached the bereaved families and apologized for arriving too late to save their child.
  • Lois tried to stop Clark, but a grieving mother slapped him and protesters struck him with signs and their hands.

Ch. 248The Shepherd

Clark tried to protect Lois from the violent crowd, but she revealed that she was pregnant and urged him to leave. Bruce intervened to disperse the marchers, then Fiona arrived with over 130,000 Kryptonians and declared that humanity needed a shepherd.

  • The crowd attacked Clark and Lois, and Clark shielded her while refusing to retaliate against the people who had once called him Superman.
  • Lois told Clark she was pregnant, and he reacted with astonishment as they prepared to escape.
  • Bruce fired missiles carrying Kryptonite mist, sent aircraft and armored vehicles against the crowd, and used bats to drive thousands of marchers away.
  • As the crowd continued fighting and fleeing, Bruce descended among them and tried to clear the grounds before Heisenberg's deadline.
  • Fiona led more than 130,000 Kryptonians from the castle, and they used Heat Vision to destroy the people near Clark while leaving him and Lois unharmed.
  • Fiona announced that His Majesty would claim the land and called humanity a flock that needed a shepherd.

Ch. 249You Are the Shepherd I Chose

Bruce confronted Heisenberg over the massacre and the Kryptonians’ conquest of Earth, then entered the divine kingdom to demand an explanation. Heisenberg revealed that he had chosen Bruce to govern humanity as its shepherd, leaving Bruce to decide whether he would accept the burden.

  • Bruce confronted Fiona with Kryptonite, but she and the Kryptonian forces spread across Earth to seize military bases while Hela and Hippolyta’s armies occupied Metropolis.
  • Lois reassured the guilt-ridden Clark that the kindergarten fire and the deaths were not his fault, and Bruce told Clark to leave with her before heading to the divine kingdom.
  • Clark offered to accompany Bruce, but Bruce reminded him that he was also a Kryptonian and charged toward the castle alone.
  • Hippolyta let Bruce pass into the divine kingdom, where he accused Heisenberg of testing him and condemned him for killing tens of thousands.
  • Heisenberg showed Bruce the American leaders blaming one another and explained that he had chosen Bruce to govern humanity, bear its praise and blame, and keep it safe.

Ch. 250I Am Batman!!!

Bruce accepted Heisenberg’s demand to take responsibility for Earth, choosing to rule through Wayne Enterprises rather than act as Batman. After Heisenberg’s Kryptonians dismantled Earth’s weapons and satellites, Bruce revealed his identity to humanity and declared, “I am Batman!!!”

  • Clark asked Heisenberg to let Lois and Martha live in the Divine Kingdom, and Heisenberg agreed, welcoming Lois and Clark’s mother and farmhouse.
  • Bruce stopped Clark from asking what Heisenberg wanted for Earth, then accepted Heisenberg’s trust and responsibility for its future.
  • Heisenberg’s Kryptonians destroyed Earth’s weapons and satellites, while Bruce promised to build Wayne Enterprises into Earth’s armed power and replace the destroyed satellites.
  • Bruce removed his Batman mask and left the Divine Kingdom, and Heisenberg sent Clark to protect him and bring Martha to safety.
  • Bruce returned to his cave, worked with Alfred to launch bat-symbol satellites, and broadcast his unmasked identity to humanity, declaring, “I am Batman!!!”

Ch. 251Shazam

Bruce consolidated control of Earth and planned to dismantle its old power structures, accepting that humanity’s future depended on following Heisenberg’s orders. Meanwhile, Heisenberg organized life in his divine kingdom before a meeting with Wizard Shazam interrupted his visit to Clark.

  • Bruce ruled Earth through broadcasts and former Wayne Enterprises employees, while releasing footage of the Metropolis massacre to discourage resistance.
  • Bruce told Alfred he planned to topple financial dynasties and even Wayne Enterprises so humanity could unite under a new order.
  • Alfred warned Bruce that people would soon hate him, but Bruce embraced the burden as the best available Plan B against cosmic threats.
  • Heisenberg assigned living areas to the Amazons and Atlanteans, planned Asgard’s district on Mogo with Hela, and visited Clark and Lois.
  • As Heisenberg left Clark’s home, the surroundings changed, and he found Wizard Shazam waiting in a gloomy hall beside the Seven Deadly Sins statues.

Ch. 252Lucifer

Heisenberg met Wizard Shazam, passed his test, and learned that Lucifer and a mysterious blue giant might threaten the world he was shaping. After Shazam sent him back to Mogo, Heisenberg decided to visit Lucifer in Los Angeles and investigate the blue giant.

  • Wizard Shazam tested Heisenberg with the Seven Deadly Sins and confirmed that their evil had not corrupted his soul.
  • Heisenberg offered to help Shazam contain the sins, but Shazam chose to remain with them and told Heisenberg they would meet again in ten years.
  • Shazam warned Heisenberg to beware of Lucifer and a blue giant standing above the universe, whom Heisenberg suspected was Doctor Manhattan.
  • Shazam sent Heisenberg back to Mogo, where Heisenberg considered Shazam's powers and the future under Batman's rule.
  • Heisenberg decided to visit Lucifer in Los Angeles and speak with him about the mysterious blue giant.

Ch. 253Succubus Maze

Heisenberg arrived at Lucifer’s bar in Los Angeles with Mogo and met Maze, who flirted with him before recognizing his power. The encounter left Mogo jealous and Maze welcoming Heisenberg with drinks while Lucifer remained asleep upstairs.

  • Heisenberg flew to Los Angeles carrying Mogo and entered Lucifer’s bar on the seventeenth floor.
  • Maze dismissed a young man from the bar, then introduced herself and flirted with Heisenberg.
  • Mogo transformed into a little girl and stopped Maze from drawing closer to Heisenberg.
  • Maze drew her God Slaying Daggers, but Heisenberg identified himself and said he had not come looking for trouble.
  • Maze put away her daggers, toasted Heisenberg, and said Lucifer would not wake before noon after a night with nineteen people.
  • Maze made a cocktail for Mogo and teased her about her desire for Heisenberg.

Ch. 254Let's Take Him Out!

Heisenberg and Mogo visited Lucifer’s bar and joined Maze for drinks while waiting for Lucifer to wake. When Lucifer and Heisenberg spotted the Black Angel outside, they confronted him, and Lucifer began fighting him while Heisenberg watched.

  • Maze told Heisenberg that Lucifer would not wake for another two hours, and the three drank together at the bar.
  • Lucifer came downstairs, introduced himself to Heisenberg, and complained that Heisenberg’s changes to the world were hurting the bar’s business and disrupting the flow of souls to Hell.
  • Lucifer explained that he had noticed Heisenberg’s arrival and joked that their actions had made the universe a conspicuous center of the multiverse.
  • Heisenberg and Lucifer saw the Black Angel outside the window, and Heisenberg placed Mogo beside Maze before joining Lucifer as they approached him.
  • The Black Angel entered through the window and started brawling with Lucifer, while Heisenberg stayed back and watched.
  • Lucifer and the Black Angel continued fighting on the floor, and Lucifer called out to Heisenberg to help finish off Amenadiel.

Ch. 255We All Have Responsibilities

Heisenberg met Lucifer and Amenadiel at Lux, where the brothers joked and argued before Amenadiel revealed that demons and angels were conspiring around the Spear of Longinus. Heisenberg, Lucifer, and Amenadiel each accepted responsibility for investigating the threat.

  • Amenadiel and Lucifer fought, then made up over drinks with Heisenberg and Mogo at Lux.
  • Lucifer welcomed Heisenberg to use an Earth in their universe and warned him that he and Amenadiel disliked magic users such as Shazam.
  • Lucifer joked about overthrowing God, and Amenadiel struck him and warned him not to joke about their father.
  • Amenadiel told Lucifer and Heisenberg that demons were stirring in Hell and many beings were tracking the Spear of Longinus.
  • Amenadiel concluded that conspirators in Hell and Heaven planned to undermine him and Lucifer, and said all three of them had a responsibility to act.

Ch. 256John Constantine

John Constantine exorcised a demon from a girl in Los Angeles and discovered a drawing of the Spear of Longinus, which demons were searching for. At the Bar of Light, Amenadiel urged Heisenberg and Lucifer to stop the other Demon Kings from obtaining the spear.

  • John Constantine arrived at a Los Angeles apartment to exorcise a demon possessing a girl, using sunlight and a Seal of Solomon pendant.
  • When the demon resisted, Constantine used a mirror and an incantation to trap it, then threw the mirror into the sunlight and freed the girl.
  • Constantine noticed a drawing of a blade that he recognized as the demon's work, pocketed it, and left.
  • At the Bar of Light, Heisenberg, Lucifer, and Amenadiel watched the exorcism; Lucifer recognized Constantine and remarked that he seemed close to death.
  • Amenadiel identified the drawing as the Spear of Longinus and said demons had been searching for it, then asked Heisenberg and Lucifer to prevent the other Demon Kings from claiming it.

Ch. 257Gotham

Lucifer and Heisenberg persuaded Amenadiel to ignore Hell’s search for the Spear of Longinus unless its seekers came to Earth. Five days after the Metropolis massacre, Jim Gordon planned to send Barbara to China, but an unexpected visitor appeared before her.

  • Heisenberg and Lucifer told Amenadiel to let Hell’s inhabitants search for the Spear of Longinus and kill them if they escaped to Earth.
  • Lucifer, Heisenberg, and Amenadiel spent three days drinking and talking while Lucifer brought female celebrities to his bar and Heisenberg sent Mogo away.
  • As the world struggled under Bruce Wayne’s rule after the Metropolis massacre, Jim Gordon woke up hungover in Gotham and reassured Barbara that he was fine.
  • Gordon told Barbara he planned to take her to a friend’s plane so she could travel to China, which he considered safer than the United States.
  • After Gordon left the room, a woman in a black bodysuit and cat-ear goggles appeared before Barbara and made a face at her.

Ch. 258Women's Alliance

Barbara left home with Catwoman to join a safe house in Gotham, while Commissioner Gordon accepted that he could not resist the new order. Catwoman drove Barbara toward a women’s alliance of heroes and rogues, leaving Barbara to join Selina, Poison Ivy Pamela, and Black Canary.

  • Barbara told Catwoman she would stay in Gotham and asked her to take her to their prepared safe house without telling Commissioner Gordon.
  • Gordon found Barbara gone with clothes and tools missing, understood she had chosen to stay, and reluctantly accepted that he could do nothing against Bruce’s rule.
  • Gordon turned off Wayne Channel propaganda, reflected that people had stayed indoors after the Metropolis massacre, and drank alone on his sofa.
  • Catwoman pushed Barbara through Gotham’s empty streets, loaded her wheelchair and toolbox onto an Aston Martin, and drove her away.
  • Catwoman told Barbara that she, Poison Ivy Pamela, and Black Canary lived in two Uptown mansions connected by tunnels, and Barbara teased her about being single.

Ch. 259Age of the Villain Alliance

Penguin brought Nygma out of Arkham and welcomed him back to his manor, where they reunited despite their history as friends and enemies. Penguin explained that Batman’s rise to the presidency and the powerful forces behind him had made Gotham’s crisis too large for either of them to face alone.

  • Penguin waited at his violet-covered manor while his subordinate arranged to bring Nygma from Arkham.
  • Eighteen minutes later, a Lincoln arrived, and Penguin personally opened the door for Nygma.
  • Penguin and Nygma greeted each other, clasped hands, and embraced while each kept a dagger hidden behind his back.
  • Penguin told Nygma that he had brought him back because Gotham’s changing circumstances demanded their combined strength.
  • Penguin revealed that he had also invited Deathstroke and The Joker to join the meeting against Batman’s rule.

Ch. 260Harley Quinn

Penguin, Nygma, and Deathstroke gathered to discuss opposing Bruce Wayne and the Kryptonians, but their meeting was interrupted by Two-Face. Meanwhile, The Joker visited Catwoman and asked her to steal Harley Quinn back for him.

  • Penguin welcomed Nygma and complained about Batman’s rise and his own time in Arkham.
  • Deathstroke arrived armed with weapons he had built himself, surprising Penguin.
  • Nygma denounced Bruce Wayne for abandoning his conflict with Gotham’s villains, and Penguin urged the group to focus on the Kryptonians.
  • Two-Face arrived and said The Joker had invited him, but was delayed by other business.
  • The Joker met Catwoman and Barbara at Catwoman’s base and asked Catwoman to find and steal back Harley Quinn.

Ch. 261The Joker and Batman

Selina agreed to help The Joker find Harley Quinn, while Barbara argued that Gotham’s survivors should work with Bruce Wayne’s new regime rather than oppose it. At Penguin’s manor, The Joker killed Mr. Freeze to reserve a seat for his long-awaited friend, who arrived as Bruce Wayne.

  • The Joker told Selina that Harley Quinn had been missing for seventeen days and asked her to find Harley.
  • Barbara explained to Selina and Poison Ivy that Bruce Wayne, not Heisenberg, was directing Earth’s transformation and urged them to join the new ruling force.
  • At Penguin’s manor, Penguin complained that The Joker’s people had crowded into his home.
  • The Joker shot Mr. Freeze dead for sitting in the seat he had reserved for an arriving friend.
  • The Joker welcomed Bruce Wayne into the manor, shocking Penguin and the other gathered villains.
