"Just tell me which one you like." Jiang Ruoyao's expression remained calm.
"Of course I like them both. Whether it's a boy or a girl, wouldn't they both be my children? I'm no old fossil with outdated ideas about favoring boys over girls." Hua Yunfei chuckled.
"Is that so?" Jiang Ruoyao glanced sideways at Hua Yunfei. "What if you had to choose one?"
"There's no 'what if.' Forcing a choice would only hurt the child. As an elder, I should treat them equally." Hua Yunfei shook his head, his stance clear.
Jiang Ruoyao didn't press him further.
"You're asking me this out of the blue. Have you finally come around and decided to have a big, strapping boy for me?" Hua Yunfei looked at Jiang Ruoyao and playfully winked.
"I was just curious. You certainly know how to read into things. Are we even close enough for that?" Jiang Ruoyao replied coldly.
"How are we not? You may have forgotten, but I remember every last detail. How about I dig up those memories and let you relive them for yourself?" Hua Yunfei said.
"Boring!" Jiang Ruoyao scoffed. There was no way she'd look.
"Fine, fine, I'll stop. Say any more and you'll get worked up again. But honestly, you may want nothing more than to stay far away from me now. Once you're back to normal, even if I hide from you, you'll come chasing after me and beg me to hold you."
Hua Yunfei shrugged. To avoid Jiang Ruoyao pulling out the Primordial Sword's scabbard and taking a swing at him, he simply shut his mouth.
"Who'd want that? I'd never beg you to hold me!" Jiang Ruoyao glared at Hua Yunfei as if she could eat him alive.
"But jokes aside, if An Ning was my first child,
