When Hua Yunfei and the Nether Son arrived before the Southern Heavenly Gate of the Tenth Heavenly Vault, they were stopped, just as expected.
An old monk, along with several young monks, blocked their path. They kept chanting Amitabha, yet refused to let the two pass.
"Some matters cannot be stopped. We must see that person." Hua Yunfei cupped his fists, his attitude firm. "I ask that you fellow Daoists clear the way."
The Nether Son folded his arms, the corner of his eye twitching. For some reason, he suddenly had an overwhelming urge to slap these bald donkeys.
Judging by their faces, they looked kind and benevolent, not like people asking to be slapped. Yet he simply had that impulse.
"Amitabha. Benefactor Hua, please return. It is not yet time for a meeting. You will meet again in the future."
The old monk pressed his palms together, unwilling to let them through.
"This is an extraordinary time, so it should be handled extraordinarily. If that person from the Xumi Sacred Cult harbors no special intentions, I will leave immediately and will never cause any trouble," Hua Yunfei said.
"No." The old monk still shook his head in refusal.
He had been ordered to stand guard here. No matter what Hua Yunfei said, he could not possibly let him pass, or the fault would be his.
