"Heaven's Decree... truly cannot be defied."
The Immortal Hall Lord sighed. "They aren't necessarily the ones in the wrong. Perhaps everyone..."
"Stop!" The Battle Ancestor cut her off. "Best not to go any further. Some things are better left understood without being spoken."
"If our conjecture is true, another great calamity awaits the Thirty-Three Heavens. How will it end this time?"
The Immortal Hall Lord looked toward Beyond the Boundary, unfathomable worry in her profound gaze. She had already foreseen the danger.
"Not many people were involved last time. This time, the stakes are enormous, and everyone has been drawn into the game. The outcome is hard to predict. There might be winners, or everyone might end up losing."
The Battle Ancestor began stuffing himself with food and drink again, looking every bit a carefree old codger.
"Everyone might lose? Then who will lose the most? There is a difference," the Immortal Hall Lord murmured.
"You worry too much. Who cares about all that? When soldiers come, send a general to block them; when water comes, pile up earth to dam it. Just fight."
The Battle Ancestor rose, wiped his greasy hands across his chest, then picked up a jar of wine and left.
"Just take care of what you're good at."
"As for the rest, leave it to this old man."
The Battle Ancestor's voice drifted back from afar.
"With a great calamity approaching and powerful enemies circling the Thirty-Three Heavens, how could I not worry?"
The Immortal Hall Lord was not a heedless brute like the Battle Ancestor. Naturally, she could not simply disregard everything.
