1. Key Plot Points and Events

  • Hua Yunfei visits the Giant Cloud Merchant Association, the largest merchant organization in the Giant Cloud Domain, known for its branches across the world and possibly other worlds.

  • Hua Yunfei purchases numerous unfamiliar treasures, including a Fire God Flower seed—an immortal herb valuable to cultivators of the Great Dao of Flame and a key ingredient for Fire God Pills.
  • A maid named Yan Xue notices his purchases and assumes he is an alchemist. When Hua Yunfei claims he can refine Supreme Realm-grade pills, she is deeply shocked.
  • Yan Xue explains that Supreme Realm alchemists are extraordinarily rare and respected because of the immense resources, skill, and financial cost required to refine pills at that level.
  • Learning that alchemists of Hua Yunfei’s claimed level receive the association’s highest status, he discovers he is entitled to purchase all items at one-tenth of their listed price.
  • Yan Xue offers to escort him to a private room and informs him that the association’s president will personally receive him. Hua Yunfei declines, preferring to browse the goods himself.
  • Yan Xue leaves to notify the president and introduces herself, asking Hua Yunfei to call her “Little Xue.”

2. Character Developments

  • Hua Yunfei: Demonstrates practical curiosity and generosity by collecting rare treasures for his companions and homeland. Though not actually an alchemist, he recognizes the value of adopting a prestigious identity now that he no longer has his sect’s protection. His calm, confident manner allows him to exploit the association’s respect for Supreme Realm alchemists.
  • Yan Xue: Initially acts as a friendly sales attendant, but becomes increasingly respectful and impressed after learning of Hua Yunfei’s supposed abilities. She shifts from ordinary customer service to eager personal assistance and quickly seeks to alert the association’s president.

3. Significant Themes

  • The value of resources and expertise: Advancement, especially to the Supreme Realm, depends not only on talent but also on access to enormous resources.

  • Exploration and cultural contrast: The merchant association reveals treasures and systems unknown in the Thirty-Three Heavens, emphasizing the richness and scale of the world Beyond the Boundary.

  • Cui Hua reprimands Yan Xue for violating the Merchant Association’s reporting hierarchy and slaps her when Yan Xue attempts to explain that special rules apply when receiving a highly distinguished guest.
  • Cui Hua orders Yan Xue to return to serving ordinary customers and threatens to fire her if she protests. Yan Xue suppresses her humiliation and obeys because she desperately needs her job to support her injured father, who requires expensive immortal pills.
  • Cui Hua realizes that Hua Yunfei is allegedly a Supreme Realm alchemist. Hoping to gain recognition and rewards, she rushes to inform Luo Wan, the association’s president, while taking credit for discovering the opportunity.
  • Luo Wan immediately takes the news seriously and decides to meet Hua Yunfei personally. When she learns that he refuses to use a private room and prefers to browse the association himself, she goes downstairs to meet him.
  • Luo Wan identifies Hua Yunfei among the crowd, but notices that he lacks the pill fragrance and Pill Qi normally associated with alchemists. She wonders whether he is deliberately concealing them.
  • Luo Wan and Cui Hua approach Hua Yunfei. Yan Xue watches from behind, disappointed that Cui Hua has taken the opportunity she had hoped would advance her career.
  • Luo Wan waits until Hua Yunfei notices her, then introduces herself as the president of the Giant Cloud Merchant Association.

  • Cui Hua and Luo Wan: Cui Hua flatters and carefully defers to Luo Wan, presenting the news in a way designed to earn personal credit.
  • Luo Wan and Hua Yunfei: Their first meeting begins with Luo Wan showing respect and restraint. She observes him before speaking, then personally introduces herself after he notices her.

Nine-Leaf Profound Heaven Grass

Luotian Immortal Grass

Three-Leaf Primordial Violet Qi Grass

  • Hua Yunfei considers helping Luo Wan expand the Giant Cloud Merchant Association into a larger force, with a covert organization operating behind it. He believes collective strength is more effective than acting alone.

  • Cao Ying, the Saintess of the Giant Cloud Immortal Sect and Caiyun Venerable’s disciple, is ambushed and captured by the powerful Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable.
  • Although she recognizes that he must be one of the few Ancient Ancestor-level experts in the Giant Cloud Domain, she cannot identify him before he suppresses her and isolates the surrounding space, preventing her from contacting Caiyun Venerable.
  • Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable incapacitates Cao Lang and two others, then carries the unconscious Cao Ying to a mountain summit, where Hua Yunfei—disguised in the black robes of the Dark Hall—awaits him.
  • Hua Yunfei orders a soul search to discover what Cao Ying knows. Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable hesitates because searching her soul could damage her divine soul and ruin her chances of breaking through. He also fears provoking Caiyun Venerable if their actions are exposed.
  • Hua Yunfei pressures him by threatening the recovery of thirty percent of the Immortal Cloud Temple’s resources. The two briefly confront one another, but Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable ultimately refuses to fight, recognizing that Hua Yunfei’s strength is extremely dangerous.

  • Hua Yunfei: Demonstrates authority, ruthlessness, and extraordinary hidden strength. He is willing to order a soul search but claims he also wants to avoid exposing their identities. His overwhelming divine-soul ability suggests that he is a highly important figure within the Dark Hall.
  • Caiyun Venerable: Does not appear directly, but her influence shapes the scene. Her reputation and possible retaliation make Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable reluctant to injure Cao Ying.

Significant Themes

  • Power and coercion: Even powerful Ancient Ancestor-level figures can be forced into submission when confronted by someone stronger or more politically dangerous.

  • After Hua Yunfei demonstrates superior divine-soul power, Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable becomes more compliant and assists him.
  • The chapter ends with Hua Yunfei entering Cao Ying’s memories and learning the potentially crucial connection between Ge Dansheng and the Blue Star Civilization.

  • During the investigation, Hua Yunfei encounters a mysterious force resembling a giant hand that begins erasing the memories he is viewing. Alarmed, he immediately withdraws.
  • The memory contains a startling revelation: Ge Dansheng, the renowned Pill Saint, may have originated from Blue Star Civilization.
  • Hua Yunfei questions Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable about Ge Dansheng’s true name, but the Heavenly Venerable admits that only Ge Dansheng’s title and reputation are widely known. He also warns that speaking the true name of an ancient powerhouse may attract karmic calamity.
  • Hua Yunfei orders Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable to return Cao Ying, erase all traces of their actions, and avoid leaving evidence that could lead enemies back to them.
  • Once the task is complete, Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable receives thirty percent of the Immortal Cloud Temple’s resources as payment.
  • Hua Yunfei warns him to keep the incident secret and tells him that joining the Dark Hall requires an unwavering commitment.
  • After reflecting on Ge Dansheng’s possible connection to Earth’s history, Hua Yunfei decides to investigate the Pill Tower, hoping its records or alchemist network can reveal Ge Dansheng’s whereabouts.
  • He plans to obtain a high alchemist rank so he can eventually access the four Sacred Towers, where Pill Saint-level figures may reside.

Character Developments

  • Hua Yunfei: Becomes deeply invested in finding Ge Dansheng, seeing him as a possible connection to Blue Star Civilization and a potential means of returning there. His normally controlled attitude is briefly shaken by the mysterious memory-erasing force, but he quickly regains composure and begins planning his next move.
  • Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable: Shows caution and resentment toward Hua Yunfei’s commanding attitude but suppresses his anger because he fears Hua Yunfei’s strength. He accepts the resources and seriously considers joining the Dark Hall, though he remains hesitant.
  • Cao Ying: Though unconscious and under suppression, her value rises in Hua Yunfei’s estimation because of the extraordinary information contained in her memories. Hua Yunfei recognizes that her intelligence and connections are more significant than he initially assumed.

Significant Themes

  • Mystery of origins and reincarnation: Hua Yunfei’s own transmigration makes him believe that Ge Dansheng’s possible connection to Earth cannot be dismissed as coincidence.
  • Secrets and forbidden knowledge: The memory-erasing force suggests that powerful beings or hidden laws protect the truth about Blue Star Civilization.
  • Karma and the danger of true names: Ancient experts conceal their real names because directly invoking them may bring calamity.
  • Power, authority, and submission: Hua Yunfei dominates his interaction with Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable, while the latter must weigh his pride against the practical benefits and risks of joining the Dark Hall.
  • Information as power: Cao Ying’s knowledge earns her continued importance, and Hua Yunfei sees the Pill Tower as a crucial source of records, connections, and status.

Character Interactions

  • Hua Yunfei and Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable discuss Ge Dansheng, with Hua Yunfei probing for information while concealing what he saw in the memory.
  • Hua Yunfei orders the Heavenly Venerable to erase evidence and later pays him with resources, creating a tense relationship based on coercion and mutual benefit.
  • The Heavenly Venerable considers joining the Dark Hall but is warned not to make contact until he has fully resolved his doubts.
  • Hua Yunfei’s final assessment of Cao Ying becomes more favorable, as he acknowledges that despite her apparent shortcomings, she possesses valuable and unusual knowledge.

Ch. 2771Pill Tower

Chapter Summary: “Pill Tower”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Hua Yunfei does not immediately go to the Pill Tower. First, he repeatedly conceals and clears the heavenly secrets surrounding the site where Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable previously ambushed Cao Ying and the others. This reflects his distrust of Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable and his desire to avoid leaving his fate in another person’s hands.
  • At the Pill Tower, the Tower Master is attempting to refine a Supreme Realm Immortal Pill. He has already failed three times and is making a fourth attempt using the branch’s final Star Profound Herb.
  • The Tower Master’s cultivation has not yet reached the Supreme Realm, making the refinement extremely difficult. The Pill Tower has invested enormous resources in these attempts because it lacks a Supreme Realm alchemist and feels inferior to stronger branches.
  • The pill initially appears to be forming successfully, but the medicinal energy becomes unstable. The alchemy furnace explodes, injuring and blackening the Tower Master and the elders while shaking the entire Pill Tower and disturbing nearby disciples.
  • After the failure, the Tower Master reluctantly accepts that he must stop attempting the refinement until he breaks through to the Supreme Realm.
  • Hua Yunfei arrives at the Pill Tower’s reception desk and announces that he wishes to verify his alchemist rank. Since he has never registered before, he requests verification as a Supreme Realm alchemist.
  • The receptionist and everyone nearby are stunned, since the Giant Cloud Domain has never produced or received a Supreme Realm alchemist.
  • Hua Yunfei states that he has roughly a sixty percent chance of succeeding. This confidence shocks the crowd because even highly talented Quasi-Supreme Realm alchemists generally have only a twenty-to-thirty percent chance.
  • The receptionist immediately informs the Tower Master, who is equally astonished and orders that Hua Yunfei be treated as an important guest.

Character Developments

  • Hua Yunfei: Demonstrates caution, independence, and strategic thinking by erasing traces of the earlier ambush before traveling onward. His claim of a sixty percent chance of becoming a Supreme Realm alchemist reveals extraordinary confidence and suggests that his alchemical abilities are far beyond ordinary standards.
  • The Pill Tower Master: Is portrayed as ambitious but frustrated. Despite lacking Supreme Realm cultivation, he has repeatedly risked the branch’s resources to produce a Supreme Realm Immortal Pill. After his fourth failure, he is forced to acknowledge his limitations and temporarily abandon the effort.
  • The Elders: Share the Tower Master’s anxiety and investment in the branch’s reputation. They try to persuade him to stop wasting resources, but they also sympathize with his resentment toward more prestigious Pill Tower branches.
  • The Receptionist: Initially handles Hua Yunfei as an ordinary visitor, but her attitude changes immediately after hearing his request. Her surprise and urgency emphasize the rarity of his claim.

Significant Themes

  • Distrust and self-reliance: Hua Yunfei refuses to depend entirely on Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable and takes precautions to protect himself.
  • Ambition versus limitations: The Tower Master’s efforts show the tension between aspiration and insufficient cultivation. His desire to elevate the branch clashes with the technical demands of Supreme Realm alchemy.
  • Reputation and inferiority: The branch feels humiliated by its lack of a Supreme Realm alchemist and compares itself unfavorably with stronger branches.
  • The arrival of an extraordinary figure: Hua Yunfei’s appearance creates a sharp contrast with the Tower Master’s repeated failures, foreshadowing a major shift in the Pill Tower’s fortunes.
  • Power conveyed through confidence: Hua Yunfei has not yet proven his skill, but his calm declaration of a sixty percent chance immediately commands attention and respect.

Character Interactions

  • The Tower Master and the elders discuss the risks and repeated failures of refining a Supreme Realm Immortal Pill, revealing both their shared concern and their differing attitudes toward continuing.
  • The elders urge the Tower Master to stop, while he expresses bitterness toward the supposedly superior branches.
  • Hua Yunfei interacts briefly with the receptionist, whose disbelief turns into urgency once she understands his request.
  • The receptionist reports Hua Yunfei’s claim to the Tower Master, prompting the Tower Master and elders to react with shock and curiosity.

Ch. 2772Hundred-Demon Furnace

Chapter Summary:

Hundred-Demon Furnace

Key Plot Points and Events

  • After returning to the Giant Cloud Immortal Sect, Cao Ying, Zi Jing, and Yuan Ye report to Caiyun Venerable that they may have been ambushed. Their memories briefly went blank, and although they lost nothing, all three feel that something important is missing.
  • Caiyun Venerable examines Cao Ying’s Soul Sea and memories but finds no abnormalities. She suspects they may have encountered a hidden Dark Hall expert, but keeps this possibility secret to avoid causing panic.
  • Cao Ying asks about the sealed passage between heaven and earth and the activation of the Giant Cloud Domain’s joint grand formation. Caiyun Venerable dismisses their concerns, saying that she, the Realm Lord’s Residence, and the Immortal Cloud Temple will handle the matter.
  • At the Pill Tower, Hua Yunfei meets Tower Master Tao Ran and several elders. They have just descended from the ninth floor, where an alchemy furnace explosion left the room blackened and wrecked, humorously leaving their hair standing on end.
  • Hua Yunfei requests verification of his Supreme Realm alchemist rank. Tao Ran explains that he must successfully refine a Supreme Realm immortal pill within three attempts.
  • Hua Yunfei produces the mysterious Hundred-Demon Furnace, a violet-black furnace decorated with lifelike demon engravings. He then reveals a rare flame containing Primordial Violet Qi, shocking Tao Ran and the elders.
  • Rather than carefully adding ingredients, Hua Yunfei throws hundreds of medicinal materials into the furnace at once, using an alchemy technique associated with the legendary alchemist Ge Dansheng.
  • The furnace begins shaking violently, and Tao Ran realizes that it appears ready to explode. He and the elders flee as the chapter ends.

Character Developments

  • Cao Ying is shown to be highly perceptive and suspicious. Although no evidence supports her fears, she trusts her instincts and recognizes that the memory gap may indicate a serious hidden threat.
  • Caiyun Venerable demonstrates caution and political awareness. She suspects the Dark Hall may be involved but withholds the information to prevent widespread alarm. She also recognizes that the incident does not match the Blood Alliance’s usual brutality.
  • Hua Yunfei continues to conceal the true extent of his abilities. Though he does not normally practice alchemy, he possesses extraordinary resources, including rare materials, powerful furnaces, and an Immortal Fire. His relaxed confidence suggests that he may be deliberately surprising the Pill Tower.
  • Tao Ran is established as an unconventional and somewhat humorous Tower Master. Despite his informal personality, he is knowledgeable about alchemy and immediately recognizes the significance of Hua Yunfei’s furnace, flame, and technique.

Significant Themes

  • Hidden threats and uncertainty: The unexplained memory loss and Caiyun Venerable’s suspicions reinforce the presence of an unseen enemy, likely connected to the Dark Hall.
  • Appearance versus reality: Cao Ying and her companions appear unharmed, yet something may have been done to them. Likewise, Hua Yunfei initially seems merely like a challenger, but his equipment and methods reveal extraordinary power.
  • Secrecy and controlled information: Caiyun Venerable deliberately withholds information about the Dark Hall to protect stability, emphasizing the danger of knowledge in a tense political environment.
  • Mastery versus recklessness: Hua Yunfei’s unconventional alchemy resembles Ge Dansheng’s advanced method, but his aggressive approach looks indistinguishable from a furnace about to explode. The chapter builds suspense over whether he possesses genuine mastery or is about to cause another disaster.
  • Humor amid danger: Tao Ran’s scorched appearance and casual remarks contrast with the serious Dark Hall investigation and the potentially catastrophic alchemy test.

Character Interactions

  • Cao Ying, Zi Jing, and Yuan Ye collectively express their unease to Caiyun Venerable, while she examines them and tries to reassure them.
  • Caiyun Venerable internally weighs the possibility that they encountered the hidden Dark Hall expert, but chooses not to share her suspicions.
  • Tao Ran and Hua Yunfei interact cordially but directly, with Hua Yunfei urging the test to begin immediately and Tao Ran explaining the Pill Tower’s rules.
  • Tao Ran and the elders react with growing shock to Hua Yunfei’s Hundred-Demon Furnace, Primordial Violet Qi Immortal Fire, and imitation of Ge Dansheng’s alchemy technique.
  • The chapter ends with Tao Ran and the elders abandoning their composure and running from the apparently unstable furnace.

Ch. 2773I'd Praise Even His Furnace Explosion for Being Loud

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Hua Yunfei’s first attempt to refine a Supreme Realm Immortal Pill ends in a catastrophic furnace explosion.
  • The medicinal energy inside the Hundred-Demon Furnace erupts with such force that it blows off the Pill Tower’s roof, cracks and tilts the tower, destroys the plaza, collapses Tao Ran’s statue, and sends enormous waves surging through the nearby Immortal Lake.
  • Hua Yunfei detects the abnormal reaction almost immediately and escapes before the explosion fully occurs. Tao Ran, the Great Elder, Second Elder, and Third Elder react too slowly and are blasted into the air.
  • After nearly half an hour, the disturbance subsides. The people in the Pill Tower emerge shaken, astonished by the unprecedented scale of the explosion.
  • Tao Ran and the elders fall back onto the ruined ninth floor, badly burned, bleeding, and covered in soot. Their injuries and the destruction make them fear that another attempt could completely destroy the Pill Tower.
  • Hua Yunfei returns unharmed, explaining simply that he “ran fast enough.” When criticized for not warning the elders, he awkwardly claims he assumed experienced alchemists would be better at dealing with furnace explosions.
  • Tao Ran agrees to let Hua Yunfei try again, but orders the Pill Tower’s defensive formations to be strengthened. Hua Yunfei helps reinforce them.
  • The Hundred-Demon Furnace itself survives because its powerful structure was not actually destroyed; instead, the unstable medicinal energy escaped from it.
  • Hua Yunfei begins preparing for a second attempt, studying the Alchemy Notes he bought from the Giant Cloud Merchant Association and reassessing the difficulty of refining a Supreme Realm Immortal Pill.
  • Despite the first failure, Tao Ran remains willing to give him up to three attempts because the Pill Tower desperately wants to verify a Supreme Realm alchemist.

Character Developments

  • Hua Yunfei: Demonstrates sharp instincts by recognizing the failed refinement and fleeing immediately. However, his inexperience becomes obvious: he is attempting a Supreme Realm Immortal Pill despite being a novice and relies heavily on mental simulations rather than practical experience. He remains confident and determined to succeed.
  • Tao Ran: Experiences genuine fear and humiliation after nearly dying and seeing his Pill Tower severely damaged. Nevertheless, his ambition and hope outweigh his caution, so he permits Hua Yunfei another attempt.
  • The Great Elder, Second Elder, and Third Elder: Become distrustful and alarmed after being badly injured. They urge Tao Ran to move Hua Yunfei elsewhere or dismiss him entirely, especially the Second Elder, whose body is nearly scorched away.
  • The alchemists and customers: Their assumptions about furnace explosions are overturned by the sheer scale of Hua Yunfei’s accident. Even experienced alchemists are frightened and impressed.

Significant Themes

  • Ambition versus recklessness: Hua Yunfei’s confidence and willingness to attempt an unprecedented refinement border on foolishness, while Tao Ran’s ambition makes him tolerate extreme risks.
  • Experience and instinct: Hua Yunfei lacks technical experience but compensates with quick perception and decisive action. The veteran alchemists, despite their knowledge, are too slow to avoid the blast.
  • Persistence after failure: The explosion is treated not as the end of Hua Yunfei’s effort but as a step toward eventual success.
  • Comedy amid danger: The characters’ charred appearances, Tao Ran’s destroyed statue, Hua Yunfei’s blunt explanation, and the elders’ exasperation turn a near-disaster into a humorous scene.
  • The pursuit of recognition: Tao Ran’s willingness to endure further destruction reflects his desire for the Pill Tower to produce or confirm a Supreme Realm alchemist.

Character Interactions

  • Hua Yunfei’s calm response contrasts sharply with the elders’ anger and disbelief.
  • The Second Elder confronts Hua Yunfei for failing to warn them, but Hua Yunfei’s innocent excuse leaves everyone speechless.
  • Tao Ran mediates between caution and ambition, agreeing to another attempt while requiring stronger defenses.
  • The elders openly question Hua Yunfei’s reliability, while Tao Ran defends the possibility of his success, declaring that even another explosion would be acceptable if Hua Yunfei succeeds within three tries.

Ch. 2774Primordial Violet Qi Pill

Chapter Summary:

Primordial Violet Qi Pill

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Still traumatized by Hua Yunfei’s earlier furnace explosion, Tao Ran leads the four Pill Tower elders to hide behind an ancient shield while Hua Yunfei prepares to refine another pill.
  • Hua Yunfei spends three days studying the Alchemy Notes, entering a state of deep enlightenment. Tao Ran notices that Hua Yunfei’s previously undetectable Pill Qi is becoming increasingly dense, proving that his alchemical understanding is rapidly improving.
  • Hua Yunfei begins refining hundreds of medicinal ingredients using the Hundred-Demon Furnace and two Immortal Fires. Rather than repeating his earlier reckless method, he uses the second fire to melt and process the ingredients before they enter the furnace.
  • Through extraordinary soul control, he filters and combines the medicinal liquids, reducing hundreds of components to only a dozen or so refined essences.
  • Hua Yunfei then produces three extremely valuable immortal grasses: the Nine-Leaf Profound Heaven Grass, Luotian Immortal Grass, and Three-Leaf Primordial Violet Qi Grass.
  • Tao Ran realizes that Hua Yunfei is refining the Primordial Violet Qi Pill, an exceptionally difficult Supreme Realm immortal pill known for frequently causing furnace explosions. The elders conclude that Hua Yunfei has deliberately chosen one of the hardest possible pills instead of an easier certification pill.
  • Hua Yunfei adds a third Immortal Fire and begins refining the three primary ingredients. Despite the violent medicinal energy inside the furnace, he steadily increases the firepower and maintains a delicate balance between heat and medicinal force.
  • The refining process continues for an entire month without another explosion.
  • Meanwhile, the Blood Alliance hall master attacks the Giant Cloud Merchant Association. With a single giant hand, he crushes the hundred-story building and kills nearly everyone inside.
  • Luo Wan, Yan Xue, and Luo Wan’s elderly Supreme Realm attendant survive by hiding inside an iron sphere’s miniature world. The attendant urges Luo Wan to seek help from the Realm Lord’s Residence, the Giant Cloud Immortal Sect, and the Immortal Cloud Temple.
  • Before they can act, the Blood Alliance hall master discovers their hiding place, leaving the three trapped and in immediate danger.

Character Developments

  • Hua Yunfei: Demonstrates that his earlier failure was not due to a lack of skill but to the extreme difficulty of the pill he chose. His mastery of multiple Immortal Fires, immense soul power, and precise control reveal him as a possible “alchemy saint” and a genuine prodigy.
  • Tao Ran: Changes from suspicion and fear to complete admiration. He recognizes his own limitations and realizes that even reaching the Supreme Realm in cultivation would not immediately make him a Supreme Realm alchemist.
  • The Pill Tower elders: Initially terrified of another explosion, they become astonished spectators. The Second Elder in particular is shocked by Hua Yunfei’s ambition and technique.
  • Luo Wan: Faces a sudden crisis after the destruction of her merchant association. Although frightened and uncertain whether outside powers will help, she remains focused on finding a way to survive.
  • The elderly attendant: Shows quick judgment and loyalty by saving Luo Wan and Yan Xue before the attack. She takes command of the situation and urges Luo Wan to seek powerful allies.
  • Blood Alliance hall master: Reveals himself as ruthless and vengeful, destroying the merchant association and hunting Luo Wan personally after being released earlier.

Significant Themes

  • Mastery through challenge: Hua Yunfei chooses the most difficult possible pill, showing that true ability is proven through extreme challenges rather than safe certification.
  • Fear versus admiration: The elders’ terror of another explosion gradually gives way to awe as Hua Yunfei proves his control.
  • The importance of soul power: The chapter emphasizes that high-level alchemy depends not only on cultivation but also on mental strength, precision, and the ability to control many processes simultaneously.
  • Vengeance and danger: The Blood Alliance attack demonstrates the brutal consequences of political and personal conflict in the wider world.
  • Fragility of power: The Giant Cloud Merchant Association’s defenses are destroyed instantly, showing that even major institutions can be helpless before a truly powerful enemy.

Character Interactions

  • Tao Ran reassures the elders that Hua Yunfei should not be disturbed while he is immersed in enlightenment.
  • The elders react nervously to Hua Yunfei’s renewed use of several hundred ingredients, but Tao Ran recognizes that his method has fundamentally changed.
  • Tao Ran explains Hua Yunfei’s remarkable control and reflects on his own failed attempts to refine Supreme Realm pills.
  • The Second Elder identifies the rare immortal grasses, allowing the group to understand that Hua Yunfei is refining the legendary Primordial Violet Qi Pill.
  • Luo Wan and the attendant debate whether outside powers will intervene, with the attendant insisting that they must seek help despite the uncertainty.
  • The chapter ends with the Blood Alliance hall master confronting the hidden Luo Wan, Yan Xue, and attendant, creating a cliffhanger.

Ch. 2775Isolated and Helpless

Summary: “Isolated and Helpless”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • The Blood Alliance Hall Master discovers the hiding place of Luo Wan, Yan Xue, and the surviving members of the Giant Cloud Merchant Association. His organization’s special tracking methods make concealment nearly impossible.
  • Grandma Liu orders Luo Wan and the others to escape in an iron sphere while she stays behind to delay the enemy. Using a secret art, she sends the sphere into the ruins before confronting the Hall Master.
  • The Hall Master unleashes overwhelming blood-colored power, revealing himself to be far stronger than Grandma Liu expected. Despite knowing she is unlikely to survive, she attacks to protect Luo Wan, whom she regards as her granddaughter.
  • Luo Wan watches Grandma Liu sacrifice herself and breaks down in tears, but quickly forces herself to act. She begins contacting the major powers of the Giant Cloud Domain for help.
  • Cao Ying refuses to inform Caiyun Venerable, explaining that the Giant Cloud Immortal Sect cannot risk provoking the Blood Alliance.
  • Luo Wan then contacts Yue Changkong, hoping his affection for her will persuade him to help. He does not respond to any of her messages, even when she offers to agree to his demands.
  • Finally, she contacts Hou Moyan of the Realm Lord’s Residence. Although he initially speaks warmly because of his friendship with Luo Wan’s father, he claims that the Realm Lord’s Residence is occupied with a more serious matter and cannot intervene. He ends the communication and destroys the token so she cannot contact him again.
  • By the end of the chapter, Luo Wan is left with no outside assistance while Grandma Liu faces the Blood Alliance alone.

Character Developments

  • Grandma Liu demonstrates absolute loyalty and self-sacrifice. Her affection for Luo Wan is revealed to be familial; she considers Luo Wan her own granddaughter and willingly gives her life for her protection.
  • Luo Wan displays rare vulnerability when she cries over Grandma Liu, but quickly regains her composure and takes responsibility for finding help. Her desperation leads her to humble herself, beg powerful figures, and even offer herself to Yue Changkong.
  • Yan Xue witnesses Luo Wan’s emotional weakness for the first time and becomes increasingly despairing as it becomes clear that no one dares oppose the Blood Alliance.
  • Cao Ying prioritizes the survival of the Giant Cloud Immortal Sect over helping Luo Wan, revealing the fear and political caution inspired by the Blood Alliance.
  • Yue Changkong remains completely silent, suggesting either deliberate abandonment or suspicious circumstances. His silence is especially cruel because Luo Wan had believed his previous affection and promises might protect her.
  • Hou Moyan initially presents himself as a caring elder but ultimately refuses to help and destroys the communication token, making his rejection particularly decisive and painful.

Significant Themes

  • Sacrifice and familial devotion: Grandma Liu’s willingness to die for Luo Wan emphasizes that family can be formed through years of care rather than blood alone.
  • Isolation and helplessness: Every potential ally refuses, disappears, or claims inability to act, leaving Luo Wan cut off despite her connections and status.
  • The power of fear: The Blood Alliance’s reputation is so terrifying that even major forces refuse to oppose it, allowing evil to operate with near impunity.
  • Political self-interest: The supposedly righteous powers place institutional safety and strategic concerns above rescuing innocent victims.
  • Desperation and loss of dignity: Luo Wan, normally powerful and composed, is forced to beg for aid and offer personal concessions, showing how completely the crisis strips away her usual authority.
  • Betrayal and disillusionment: People who once appeared friendly or supportive reveal that their loyalty has limits when genuine danger arises.

Character Interactions

  • Grandma Liu and Luo Wan share a deeply affectionate, grandmother-granddaughter bond, expressed through Grandma Liu’s final stand and Luo Wan’s grief.
  • Yan Xue observes Luo Wan’s emotional collapse and recognizes a side of her that had previously remained hidden.
  • Luo Wan’s conversations with Cao Ying, Yue Changkong, and Hou Moyan form a progression from hope to rejection. Each failed appeal intensifies her sense of abandonment.
  • Cao Ying’s refusal contrasts with Luo Wan’s desperate plea, showing the conflict between personal compassion and institutional self-preservation.
  • Hou Moyan’s initially warm tone makes his eventual refusal and destruction of the token feel especially final, underscoring Luo Wan’s complete loss of support.

Ch. 2776The only hope

Chapter Summary: “The Only Hope”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Luo Wan and Yan Xue learn that the Realm Lord’s Residence will not intervene against the Blood Alliance, despite the organization invading the Giant Cloud Domain and killing countless people.
  • This revelation destroys Yan Xue’s faith in the realm’s governing powers. Luo Wan realizes why her father had previously moved the Giant Cloud Merchant Association’s headquarters away from the Giant Cloud Domain: the region offered no real protection.
  • The Giant Cloud Immortal Sect and Immortal Cloud Temple have also refused to help. Because the Blood Alliance has sealed the domain’s passages, Luo Wan cannot contact her headquarters or summon reinforcements in time.
  • With all major powers unwilling to act, Luo Wan concludes that Granny Liu cannot be saved and that she herself is unlikely to survive.
  • Luo Wan urges Yan Xue to escape, explaining that the Blood Alliance is primarily hunting her. She asks Yan Xue to inform her father after the passages reopen and tell him to avenge her.
  • Yan Xue suggests seeking help from Master Yun Xuan, believing he is compassionate because he previously defended her when she was mistreated. Luo Wan doubts that Yun Xuan can—or would want to—oppose the Blood Alliance, especially since he is an alchemist with no known communication token.
  • Since Yun Xuan may be at the Pill Tower, the two decide to seek him there. The Pill Tower should be safe because of its powerful backing.
  • At the Pill Tower, they witness an extraordinary alchemical phenomenon: a purple vortex, immortal mist, divine light, and a violet Great Sun form above the tower, signaling the refinement of an exceptionally powerful immortal pill.
  • The front-desk attendant explains that Tower Master Tao is receiving a Supreme Realm alchemist, whom Luo Wan and Yan Xue suspect is Hua Yunfei, also known as Yun Xuan.
  • Before they can reach the upper floors, Tao Ran and three elders rush downstairs, alarmed that the mysterious alchemist is dangerously intensifying the flames during the pill’s formation.
  • Luo Wan tells Tao Ran about the Blood Alliance’s threat. Tao Ran reacts furiously, condemning the Blood Alliance for violating the rules and retaliating after releasing their target.

Character Developments

  • Luo Wan: Her confidence in the powerful institutions of the Giant Cloud Domain collapses. Although despairing, she remains responsible and self-sacrificing, prioritizing Yan Xue’s survival and asking her to carry a message of vengeance to her father.
  • Yan Xue: She shifts from helpless despair to determined hope. Her faith in Yun Xuan reflects her gratitude toward him and her belief that he is morally different from the domain’s other powerful figures.
  • Yun Xuan/Hua Yunfei: Though he does not appear directly, his importance grows. His alchemical skill is shown to be extraordinary, and he becomes the women’s only possible source of aid.
  • Tao Ran: Initially absorbed in the dangerous pill refinement, he quickly becomes sympathetic and enraged after hearing Luo Wan’s account, revealing strong opposition to the Blood Alliance’s behavior.
  • The Realm Lord’s Residence: It is portrayed as cautious and politically intimidated rather than protective, undermining its sacred reputation.

Significant Themes

  • Abandonment by those in power: The chapter criticizes institutions that possess authority but refuse to defend those under their protection.
  • Despair versus hope: Luo Wan sees no path forward, while Yan Xue clings to the possibility that one compassionate individual may still help them.
  • Moral courage: Yun Xuan’s earlier willingness to defend Yan Xue contrasts with the major powers’ cowardice and self-interest.
  • Sacrifice and loyalty: Luo Wan is prepared to die so Yan Xue can escape, while Yan Xue refuses to abandon her president.
  • The limits of political power: Even the realm’s ruling authority is constrained by fear of the Blood Alliance, showing how terror can paralyze entire domains.
  • Alchemy as a source of power: The spectacular pill-refinement scene hints that Yun Xuan’s abilities may be far greater than Luo Wan assumes.

Character Interactions

  • Luo Wan and Yan Xue share a despairing but loyal exchange, with Luo Wan urging Yan Xue to flee and Yan Xue insisting on finding another solution.
  • Yan Xue argues that Yun Xuan may help because he previously defended her; Luo Wan counters that helping them would place his life at risk.
  • At the Pill Tower, Luo Wan respectfully questions the attendant about the mysterious alchemist and Tower Master Tao.
  • Tao Ran warmly acknowledges Luo Wan as a friend of the tower, then reacts with outrage when she explains the Blood Alliance’s pursuit, potentially making him an ally.

Ch. 2777A helping hand

Chapter Summary: “A Helping Hand”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Luo Wan seeks refuge in the Pill Tower after the Blood Alliance retaliates against the Giant Cloud Merchant Association and attacks Grandma Liu.
  • Tao Ran and the three Pill Tower elders condemn the Blood Alliance’s actions, arguing that the Alliance is lashing out after failing in its original mission.
  • The elders offer Luo Wan protection within the Pill Tower, but acknowledge that this alone cannot save Grandma Liu or the Merchant Association.
  • Luo Wan reveals that she already appealed to the three major powers of the realm:
    • Saintess Cao of the Giant Cloud Immortal Sect refused to help.
    • The Moon God’s son from the Immortal Cloud Temple gave no response.
    • Hou Moyan of the Realm Lord’s Residence also chose to remain uninvolved.
  • Tao Ran criticizes the Realm Lord’s Residence for its selfishness, noting that Luo Wan’s father once faced a similar betrayal from them.
  • Luo Wan asks to see Master Yun Xuan, the Supreme Realm alchemist whose identity she helped bring to the Pill Tower. The elders reveal that Yun Xuan is actually Hua Yunfei and is currently refining the extremely difficult Primordial Violet Qi Pill.
  • Although disturbing him could ruin the pill refinement, the elders decide to inform him of Luo Wan’s crisis without creating a soul connection or speaking directly to him.
  • They return to the ninth floor, where Hua Yunfei is immersed in Primordial Chaos Immortal Mist and controlling three Immortal Fires before the Hundred-Demon Furnace.
  • Using a wooden board, Luo Wan writes an explanation of the Blood Alliance’s attack and the refusal of the realm’s major powers to help. Hua Yunfei reads the message while continuing his refinement.
  • Hua Yunfei initially doubts whether he should confront the Blood Alliance, since doing so under the identity of Yun Xuan could expose his true identity and place him in unnecessary danger.
  • He ultimately decides to seek outside assistance by using a token belonging to the Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable, who recently agreed to join Hua Yunfei’s Dark Hall.

Character Developments

  • Luo Wan: Becomes increasingly desperate but remains composed enough to seek practical solutions. Her disappointment in the realm’s major powers deepens, and she places her last hope in Hua Yunfei.
  • Tao Ran: Shows strong sympathy and a sense of justice, openly defending Luo Wan and condemning the Blood Alliance and the Realm Lord’s Residence. He balances compassion with concern for Hua Yunfei’s delicate pill refinement.
  • The Pill Tower Elders: Demonstrate loyalty and courage by protecting Luo Wan and risking interference with a dangerous refinement to deliver her plea. The elders’ willingness to help contrasts sharply with the cowardice of the realm’s ruling powers.
  • Hua Yunfei: Reveals his strategic caution. He recognizes that fighting the Blood Alliance personally could endanger his plans and true identity, but he is willing to manipulate his existing network and deploy the Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable instead.
  • Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable: Though absent from the scene, his recent decision to join the Dark Hall becomes crucial, providing Hua Yunfei with a powerful potential ally.

Significant Themes

  • Abandonment by authority: The realm’s leading powers refuse to intervene, revealing their selfishness and moral cowardice.
  • True assistance versus empty power: The Pill Tower, despite not being able to solve the crisis directly, offers protection and takes real risks to help Luo Wan.
  • Strategic restraint: Hua Yunfei must balance compassion and action against the danger of exposing himself or provoking a powerful enemy prematurely.
  • Loyalty and betrayal: Luo Wan’s faith in the Pill Tower and Hua Yunfei contrasts with the betrayal and indifference of the realm’s established authorities.
  • The cost of desperation: The crisis forces the characters to consider sacrificing a rare and valuable opportunity—the Primordial Violet Qi Pill refinement—in order to save a life.

Important Character Interactions

  • Tao Ran and the elders reassure Luo Wan that the Pill Tower will protect her from the Blood Alliance.
  • Luo Wan explains her failed appeals to the realm’s three major powers, provoking outrage from the elders.
  • The elders debate whether helping Luo Wan is worth risking Hua Yunfei’s pill refinement.
  • The Great Elder devises the wooden-board method, allowing Luo Wan to communicate with Hua Yunfei without directly disturbing him.
  • Hua Yunfei silently reads Luo Wan’s plea and weighs the risks of intervening before deciding to call upon the Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable.

Ch. 2778You're with the Dark Hall now—why fear a mere Blood Alliance?

Chapter Summary

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Hua Yunfei secretly creates a clone and sends it away with a token to arrange help for Luo Wan, whose grandmother, Liu Attendant, is in danger from the Blood Alliance.
  • While concentrating on forming his core and refining a pill, Hua Yunfei briefly speaks to Luo Wan, revealing the extraordinary strength of his divine soul. He asks Tao Ran and the others to keep his intervention secret.
  • In the Immortal Cloud Temple, Yun Shuang gives Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable his first mission as a new member of the Dark Hall: rescue Liu Attendant and repel the Blood Alliance at the Giant Cloud Merchant Association.
  • Initially wary of provoking the Blood Alliance, Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable is persuaded that the Dark Hall is powerful enough to protect him. Yun Shuang also advises him to eventually dissolve the Immortal Cloud Temple and serve the Dark Hall directly, while suggesting he might later rebuild it as a front for his true identity.
  • Yun Shuang explains that saving the Giant Cloud Merchant Association will make it indebted to the Dark Hall and help the organization establish influence in the eastern region. The Dark Hall intends to gradually absorb and control the area by exploiting useful individuals and forces.

  • The Blood Alliance hall master pursues Luo Wan toward the Pill Tower, while the other three members prepare to surround it.
  • Acting under Hua Yunfei’s command, Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable attacks the remaining three Blood Alliance members. Despite their threats, he effortlessly defeats and suppresses them, turning their bodies into blood mist.

  • The Blood Alliance is characterized as brutally efficient and arrogant, relying on lethal methods and intimidation, but becoming fearful when confronted by overwhelming strength.

Significant Themes

  • Sacrifice and loyalty: Grandma Liu’s death emphasizes the depth of her loyalty to Luo Wan and contrasts with the Blood Alliance’s ruthless pursuit of power.
  • Fear versus authority: The Blood Alliance intimidates weaker forces, but its members lose that dominance when faced with the Dark Hall’s superior strength.
  • Secrecy and identity: Hua Yunfei’s clones, Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable’s mask, and the planned dissolution or concealment of the Immortal Cloud Temple all reflect the importance of hidden identities and covert influence.

Important Character Interactions

  • Yun Shuang persuades Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable to accept his mission by appealing to the Dark Hall’s superiority and promising him future authority.
  • Hua Yunfei’s clone and Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable cooperate at the ruined merchant association, with Hua Yunfei directing the operation and the Heavenly Venerable carrying out the attack.

Ch. 2779The One Who Will Kill You!

Summary

Plot points and events

The Blood Alliance arrives at the Pill Tower under the command of its Hall Master, demanding that Luo Wan be handed over. Their arrival causes panic among the customers and alchemists, who flee inside. Tao Ran, the Pill Tower Master, and the three elders refuse to surrender Luo Wan, declaring that the Pill Tower will protect her.
To force their compliance, the Blood Alliance Hall Master threatens to destroy the pills Hua Yunfei is refining in the Hundred-Demon Furnace. Knowing that the furnace contains an extraordinarily valuable pill, he gives the Pill Tower ten breaths to choose between Luo Wan and the pills.
Luo Wan decides to surrender herself rather than endanger the Pill Tower or Hua Yunfei’s work. She believes Grandma Liu’s death was partly her fault and feels she has no face to return to her father. When she reaches the Hall Master, she attempts to self-destruct, preferring death to falling into the Blood Alliance’s hands. However, the Supreme Realm Hall Master effortlessly suppresses her. He then attacks Hua Yunfei’s furnace to demonstrate his power.
Just before the attack lands, Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable appears and neutralizes it. He confronts the Hall Master, declaring himself “the one who will kill” him.

Character developments

  • Luo Wan is portrayed as loyal, self-sacrificing, and deeply burdened by guilt over Grandma Liu’s death. Her willingness to surrender herself—and later attempt suicide—shows her determination to protect others and preserve her dignity.
  • Tao Ran and the three elders demonstrate courage and loyalty by standing against the Blood Alliance despite knowing they are outmatched. Their inability to stop Luo Wan highlights the limits of their strength.
  • The Blood Alliance Hall Master is revealed as cruel, manipulative, arrogant, and predatory. He exploits Hua Yunfei’s pill refinement and Luo Wan’s vulnerability to torment the Pill Tower.
  • Hua Yunfei remains completely focused on refining the pill, showing exceptional composure even while being directly threatened.
  • Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable makes a dramatic entrance, immediately shifting the balance of power and openly challenging the Blood Alliance leader.

Significant themes

  • Strength and powerlessness: The chapter emphasizes that those without sufficient strength can be forced into helpless choices, even when they possess status or moral courage.
  • Courage versus cowardice: The Pill Tower’s decision to protect Luo Wan contrasts with the broader powers that have allowed the Blood Alliance to act unchecked.
  • Sacrifice and loyalty: Luo Wan is willing to die to avoid implicating her allies, while Tao Ran and the elders risk provoking the Blood Alliance to defend her.
  • Abuse of power: The Hall Master’s threats and attempted exploitation show how unchecked authority enables cruelty.
  • Hope and intervention: Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable’s arrival provides a sudden possibility of justice and resistance.

Character interactions

Tao Ran and the elders defend Luo Wan and argue with the Hall Master, while Luo Wan thanks them but refuses to endanger them further. The Hall Master manipulates them by threatening Hua Yunfei’s furnace, provoking their fury. Yan Xue watches helplessly as Luo Wan approaches death. The confrontation culminates in Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable protecting Hua Yunfei and directly challenging the Blood Alliance Hall Master.

Ch. 2780You're Not So Tough Either

Chapter Summary: “You’re Not So Tough Either”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • The Blood Alliance hall master mocks Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable’s threat to kill him, confident that no one would dare attack a Blood Alliance member on its own territory.
  • Immortal Cloud explains that he initially does not intend to kill the hall master because the man is still useful. To revive Granny Liu, he must force the Blood Alliance to release its suppression of her Karma, which requires capturing the hall master and three other members.
  • Immortal Cloud suddenly appears in front of the hall master, pierces his chest, and slaps him twice, shocking everyone present and rescuing Luo Wan.
  • Luo Wan realizes that the masked expert was likely summoned by Hua Yunfei, though she carefully conceals this connection from the others.
  • The hall master tries to identify Immortal Cloud by testing his cultivation and Laws, suspecting he may be Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable, Realm Lord Hou Feng, or an expert from Beyond the Boundary.
  • Immortal Cloud effortlessly catches the hall master’s blood-colored saber between two fingers and destroys his powerful cauldron with a glance.
  • The hall master attempts to flee, but Immortal Cloud—whose Early Third Step cultivation vastly surpasses the hall master’s Mid-Second Step realm—easily catches and crushes him with physical strength alone.
  • Even after using the Blood Alliance’s Blood Escape Art and restoring his body, the hall master cannot escape. Immortal Cloud tramples him and openly ridicules the Blood Alliance’s reputation.

Character Developments

  • Immortal Cloud Heavenly Venerable: Demonstrates overwhelming confidence and power. He is calm, mocking, and completely unafraid of the Blood Alliance, revealing that he can dominate its hall master without even using Magic Power.
  • Blood Alliance hall master: His arrogance collapses into shock, fear, and desperation once he realizes the enormous gap between himself and Immortal Cloud. His attempts to fight and flee both fail.
  • Luo Wan: Is rescued and becomes increasingly grateful to Hua Yunfei. She correctly infers that Yun Xuan/Hua Yunfei has hidden connections and possibly multiple identities.
  • Hua Yunfei: Though he remains focused on refining pills and does not openly participate, his influence is revealed through the powerful expert he arranged to protect Luo Wan. Tao Ran and the others view him with even greater admiration.
  • Tao Ran and the others: Initially stunned, they become quietly pleased to see the hated Blood Alliance hall master humiliated and defeated.

Significant Themes

  • Hidden identities and alliances: Luo Wan suspects that Hua Yunfei possesses concealed identities and connections, while Immortal Cloud’s own identity remains deliberately ambiguous.
  • Justice and retribution: The Blood Alliance’s cruelty has made it widely despised, so the hall master’s defeat provides a sense of long-awaited revenge.
  • The limits of arrogance: The hall master’s confidence is based on intimidation rather than true superiority. Once challenged by someone stronger, his pride quickly turns into panic.
  • Strategic restraint: Immortal Cloud does not act purely out of anger; he intends to use the hall master as leverage to save Granny Liu.

Character Interactions

  • Immortal Cloud and the hall master: Their exchange is dominated by mockery and intimidation. The hall master threatens and tests him, while Immortal Cloud responds with effortless violence and sarcastic remarks.
  • Immortal Cloud and Luo Wan: He privately reassures her, confirms that someone requested his intervention, and tells her to stand aside while he deals with the Blood Alliance.
  • Luo Wan and Hua Yunfei: Although they do not openly speak about him, Luo Wan recognizes that Hua Yunfei arranged her rescue and feels profound gratitude toward him.
  • Luo Wan, Tao Ran, and the others: Tao Ran asks about the masked expert, but Luo Wan claims ignorance. Her glance toward Hua Yunfei allows them to understand that his identity should not be questioned.
  • The hall master and the Blood Alliance: The hall master’s failed escape and humiliation expose the vulnerability of the organization’s current leadership.
