"Now, carry the child and follow behind me," Chen Mo said to Mihiko.
"Hi!" Mihiko said nothing else, merely nodding in agreement.
Chen Mo walked in front, while Mihiko carried the child and followed closely behind him. Yet her eyes kept scanning the surroundings, terrified that someone might rush out and seize her and the child again!
If that happened, Mihiko would truly suffer a complete mental breakdown!
Fortunately, nothing of the sort happened after she followed Chen Mo into the car. What struck her as strange was that, over such a long distance through the house and courtyard, not a single person emerged or tried to stop them from leaving!
Wasn't this where the bandits had held her captive? Why had no one come out to stop them?
Mihiko was deeply puzzled, but she never asked Chen Mo.
The car drove straight out of the area and onto the highway. After about half an hour, Chen Mo left the highway and entered Izumi City!
At a convenience store, Chen Mo bought some food, water, and other supplies, then drove to a place for tourists to rest.
While driving, Chen Mo had heard Mihiko's stomach growling from the back seat. "Gurgle!" It was clear that she was starving!
Weimon had also quietly whispered into Mihiko's ear that he was hungry. Though his voice was low, Chen Mo heard him clearly.
That made sense. Since being kidnapped, the two of them might not have had even a drop of water!
Chen Mo handed the food and drinks to Mihiko. "These are for you and Weimon!"
After saying that, he took out some food for himself as well. Although the food was plentiful, Chen Mo truly did not find it very tasty. Even the fruits Inside Universe Bead were better than this.
