In Malaysia, the power of the police was actually quite weak.
After all, it was a country with only around thirty million people, and even its capital, Long City, had only a few million residents. For an institution like the police, their numbers were truly quite limited.
It was unlike back home, where even a small prefecture-level city had a population of several million. Not to mention the first-tier cities—some cities even had populations greater than Malaysia's entire population. Naturally, the police forces there were much larger as well.
In Malaysia, however, the number of people in the police force was pitifully small by comparison. Therefore, when something happened, the police force could not always arrive immediately.
So, even when the police force had been assembled, the vehicles, support, and everything else were still poorly coordinated, wasting quite a bit of time. Thus, when the personnel on standby rushed into Datuk Lin's house, they found nothing at all, aside from the Police Car parked by the roadside.
Seeing that the vehicle was still running and that someone over the radio was still calling for the two fellows, the person in charge realized that neither of them had appeared or answered. He decisively shut off the radio and intensified the search, hoping to find the two officers who had originally been on duty.
Yet unexpectedly, no matter how hard he searched, he could not find those two police officers.
Determined to find the two fellows no matter what, alive or dead, he searched the surrounding area once more, but still found nothing.
In the end, the person in charge called Datuk Lin, intending to ask whether he had any means of finding the man.
