For Tra, the mercenary unit's commander, he had originally been resting peacefully while planning how to assign personnel for tomorrow's operation, how much ammunition to carry, and so on. Just as he was making those arrangements, someone knocked urgently on the door to his quarters.
"Damn it!" Tra grumbled. Such urgent knocking had not only interrupted his thoughts, but also meant something urgent had happened. There was nothing he could do about it. After hearing the knock, he could only open the door. His subordinates generally would not disturb his rest unless something was wrong.
If the knocking was that urgent, then something must have happened.
"What happened?" Tra asked with a frown when he opened the door and saw his communications assistant.
"Commander, something urgent just happened. You need to go take a look!" the communications assistant, Mike, said.
Upon hearing that, Tra turned around, grabbed his weapon, and walked out. "What happened?" he asked as he walked.
"Uh! I'm not sure yet. After Jackson returned from outside, he found me and said he urgently needed to see you. He told me to wake you immediately because he wanted to meet with you. His expression seemed off, and he smelled of gunpowder. There may have been some kind of conflict." Mike did not know what else to say. He was only a newcomer and had not been with the team long. Veterans like Jackson often did not explain things to him.
Tra nodded and did not ask further. He would see Jackson soon enough, and then he would naturally find out what had happened. It did
