Tina looked the parchment over from every angle, but could not make heads or tails of it. Once they had entered these caves, the guidance they had followed all along was gone, leaving them with nothing but guesses.
The parchment had originally been copied, but since Tina was leading the exploration and the mission objective was important, they had brought the original with them while the copy remained at the organization's research institute for further study.
The organization had obtained this parchment easily during a previous expedition, so everyone had believed that while this mission might be difficult, it should have been relatively simple for Ability Users.
That was why Tina had brought two high-level Ability Users and a team otherwise made up of low-level Ability Users. She had not expected such heavy losses this time. They had truly miscalculated.
Tina had thought that after reaching this place, she might find something that matched the parchment, or perhaps some words described on it.

The drawings made by ancient people were truly abstract. Tra held the light behind her and took a look as well, but he was even more confused than Tina. He could not tell what it meant at all. The image looked like a child's scribble, and he recognized almost none of the writing above it.
"All right, no need to keep the light on!" Tina put away the parchment. It seemed they could only take things one step at a time from here on out.
