Strong Corrosiveness
White mist drifted out slowly under the lights.
At the very instant the entire gate opened, the black tide attacking across the ground—the Black Beetles—paused. As though something had stopped them, they halted before the line and seemed to communicate with one another, their shrill cries continuing without end.
Tina was also curious. Why had they stopped attacking?
"What's going on?" Several Ability Users who were unleashing their abilities asked curiously when they saw the Black Beetles stop.
Questions aside, their hands did not stop moving. They continued hurling abilities into the tide of Black Beetles.
Several explosions rang out. A large number of Black Beetles were blown apart. Yet amid those thunderous blasts, the Black Beetles seemed to receive some sort of command. They turned around in unison and retreated back the way they had rushed out.
For a while, the rustling sounds gradually faded into the distance. Tina and the others watched the densely packed Black Beetles withdraw into the darkness, leaving nothing but chunks of shattered beetles all over the ground.
The entire Black Beetle tide seemed to have retreated. What was going on?
All the Ability Users below who had been resisting the Black Beetle tide looked at one another, unable to make sense of it. In the end, they all looked to Tina, but she was just as confused. She could only shake her head to indicate that she did not know either.
"Yam, have you opened the gate?" Unable to figure out the reason, Tina stopped dwelling on it and asked Yam, who was on the steps.
"Captain, it's open, but..." Yam did not know how to explain it.
He was currently checking on the two Strength Type Ability Users, trying to determine why they had suddenly collapsed to the ground.
