Light!
As Tra shouted, the light seemed to grow brighter and brighter. While he stood there dazed after yelling, the glow overhead increased, and the entire passage gradually began to brighten.
Through the light, Tra vaguely made out the scene inside the cave. All those movements and noises just now had apparently come from the sound of windows opening above the passage!
What the hell? It was just opening a window. Did it have to make such a huge commotion? Everyone had been scared out of their wits! They had thought some thousand-year-old demon had emerged, or that Satan himself was making an entrance.
But in the end, in the end, it had merely opened a window! That had been genuinely terrifying. The fellow responsible for building this place was lucky he was not here, or he would definitely have gotten a thorough beating.
Even Chen Mo scratched his head. It was only a window being opened. Was there really any need to make it so complicated?
Still, Chen Mo could guess part of the reason. The wooden framework inside the passage had been made up of mechanisms connected to the door panels. Once the door panels lost their function, those mechanisms naturally lost their value as well.
Moreover, those mechanisms had been built throughout the entire passage. To open the windows, certain Stone Beams naturally had to be repositioned. Some of the Stone Beams supporting the wooden framework above therefore needed to move, meaning they could no longer serve as supports.
As a result, the mechanism components suspended overhead lost their support and fell one after another, while the windows above the passage began opening. The process had been convoluted, but the result was obvious. Who would have thought the ancients liked showing off a few tricks too?
