Just as Tina warned everyone and the mercenaries prepared to attack, something strange happened.

They made no further movements, instead stopping and slamming their massive kite shields against the ground before standing there facing everyone.
When the kite shields struck the ground, the entire cave trembled. Everyone could tell just how heavy those shields were. Ordinary shields could never create such a display of force.
