The exploding flame columns had burned away much of his clothing and charred his skin, but his ribs and the rest had likely been protected by the successive layers of defense, which had dispersed much of the impact.

By the time the flames struck Fei Charlie, they no longer carried much force. They had not caused severe consequences, only superficial burns and some displacement of his internal organs from the impact, which had made him vomit blood.
