Beauty was a kind of original sin! Especially for someone beautiful but without a powerful background or the protection of the strong—beauty could only bring disaster.
A Yajia was extraordinarily beautiful. Not only in the mountain stronghold, but throughout the entire Tusi territory, she was considered a woman as lovely as a flower. Yet because she was beautiful and lacked the ability to protect that beauty, she could only bring suffering upon herself.
After the mountain stronghold was breached, both sides suffered grievous casualties. One side had attacked in response to the Tusi's summons and to gain spoils from the battle. The other had fought to defend their homeland from invasion.
All the defenders died in battle, while the invaders paid a terrible price as well. Yet neither side knew that this battle had happened merely because Tusi's son had set his sights on the mountain stronghold leader's daughter.
Because the leader had refused, this battle had taken place. Was it tragic, or pitiful?
None of those who had participated in the battle knew. The victorious side merely seized a few insignificant things, wiped the blood from their bodies, and went home carrying their loot.
As for their dead companions, they simply buried them where they fell, and that was the end of it. No one remembered the dead; they only cared about what they had seized.
While neither side was aware, a group took advantage of the opportunity to capture A Yajia and silently bring her back to the Tusi's territory.
As for A Yajia being captured and delivered into the hands of the profligate son, the outcome was self-evident.
Even if A Yajia refused to submit, or insisted she would rather die than agree, once she had fallen into the profligate son's hands, he had plenty of ways
