To reach the platform, they first had to deal with all the bizarre monsters and ghosts in the hall.
Some of the bizarre monsters in the hall were creatures they had never seen before.
At least when they had fought their way here, the bizarre monsters attacking them had basically just been bigger, taller, stronger, and uglier. Some had protruding teeth and bulging eyes, ugly in every possible way. Whether they were one meter tall or three, they still had a roughly humanoid form.
They had a head, arms, and legs. They looked strange, sure, but not too outrageous.
But the monsters in the hall were a different breed.
Aside from some towering monsters standing four or five meters tall, there were also bizarre monsters with no humanoid form at all. They looked like mismatched creations cobbled together from random parts.
Some walked on crab-like limbs, while others had sharp, long blades for arms, like a praying mantis's scythe legs.
Others had several lower limbs and several upper limbs, practically like creatures with three heads, six arms, and eight legs.
In any case, calling them bizarre monsters was not wrong.
These fellows were all extremely large. Perhaps that was why they had not entered the passageway. In some places, the passageway was only about four meters high.
Thus, those monsters wandered around the hall. Only after everyone entered the hall did they charge at them.
Of course, after Miller had the team retreat, the bizarre monsters could only roar at the entrance of the passageway and could not get inside. The entrance was narrow and low.
However, some monsters, though unable to enter the passageway, remained at its entrance. They flailed their long arms or blade-like limbs, wildly stabbing and slashing into the passageway as they struggled to attack everyone.
