The entire cavern hall was silent except for the light shining down from above. For a moment, the stillness was terrifying.

Lan Caijie looked around and could no longer find a single living person. The thunderstorm had lasted only a few seconds, yet it had devastated everything in the cavern hall once more. The place looked as though it had been ravaged by the apocalypse, utterly devoid of life. After the destruction caused by their battle, the floor of the entire cavern hall looked as though it had been chewed up by dogs. The ground was especially riddled with holes. These had once been the entrances and exits for the Flying Centipedes and giant centipedes, concealed by houses and other buildings, so they had not been much of an issue. Now that the buildings had been destroyed, the deep holes were exposed, making the cavern hall resemble the nest of mutated creatures from an apocalypse.

Looking at the scene before her, Lan Caijie sighed inwardly. Although those buildings had never suited her tastes, they had at least carried some memories. Having lived in the Western Regions for many years, she had grown accustomed to those architectural styles. Witnessing their destruction with her own eyes, it was impossible for her to feel nothing.

Fortunately, she also knew that these things were merely memories. If they were destroyed, then so be it. Given enough time, they would have been ruined anyway; it was only a matter of sooner or later. She herself did not have much time left to live, so that was that.
