A man nearly fifty years old stepped out from behind the screen. He was not very tall, but he was powerfully built, with a few strands of white hair and a ruddy complexion. He looked at Chen Mo and smiled.
Chen Mo also rose to his feet. Before doing anything else, basic courtesy was still necessary.
Li Wenwu sat in the seat of honor while a man brought him a bowl of tea and stood to one side.
After taking two sips, he slowly set it down and said, "What business does young friend have with me?"
"Hehe! Clan Leader Li, I'm truly sorry to disturb you so late at night. But there are some matters that left me with no choice but to come and trouble you," Chen Mo said with a smile.
"It's nothing. Please, go on," Li Wenwu said.
Chen Mo did not sit down and remained standing. He still had to show some respect to his elders.
He then recounted, point by point, how Li Huimin had seized his assets. Li Wenwu's smiling face gradually darkened.
"I came to Clan Leader Li because of this matter. I hope you can make Li Huimin stop and keep her from harassing my businesses again," Chen Mo said.
"Oh, I understand. I don't know much about Huimin's affairs. I'll ask around and give you an answer later," Li Wenwu said, somewhat impatiently lifting his tea bowl for a sip.
The man standing nearby said to Chen Mo, "Mr. Chen, this way." He gestured with his hand, clearly indicating that the audience was over and Chen Mo could leave.
Chen Mo merely smiled and remained where he was. Looking at Li Wenwu, he said, "Clan Leader Li, I think it would be better if you gave me an answer now.
