Listening to the commotion outside the Dao Seeking Altar, Xiao Mo shook his head helplessly.
"Let Her Highness the princess in."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Only after receiving permission did Wei Xun open the gates to the Dao Seeking Altar's plaza.
Qin Siyao bounded inside happily like a little white rabbit, calling sweetly, "Your Majesty, big brother!"
"With the wedding drawing near, you must have been quite busy lately, Mujiu. How did you find time to come here?" Xiao Mo asked with a smile.
"It's precisely because I've been busy with the wedding all day that I naturally come here whenever I have a little free time." Qin Siyao's eyes curved into crescents. "There's somewhere Mujiu wants to go today. Could Your Majesty come with me?"
"All right." Xiao Mo tossed his longsword onto the rack. "Where are we going today?"
"To the library," Qin Siyao said cheerfully. "Mujiu once heard that a late emperor of the Zhou Kingdom loved collecting books and spent a fortune gathering ancient texts from across the world. May I go take a look?"
That was indeed true. That late emperor of the Zhou Kingdom had been ill-suited to being an emperor, but perfectly suited to being a scholar. He loved reading, and loved collecting books even more. He had even been willing to trade an official position in the Zhou Kingdom for a single book.
The Zhou Kingdom had once been immensely powerful, yet its territory had grown smaller and smaller, and its strength weaker and weaker.
That late emperor certainly bore some responsibility for the state the Zhou Kingdom was in today.
"Of course," Xiao Mo agreed. "Let's go."
"Mm-hmm!"
With her hands resting in front of her, Qin Siyao walked beside Xiao Mo.
Before long, Xiao Mo brought Qin Siyao to the library.
