Night fell.
In a beautifully secluded courtyard filled with flowers and greenery,
Tushan Jingci, confined to her room for reflection, sat on a cushion.
She held an illustrated book, leaning forward and sprawled over the low table as she flipped through the pages, bored out of her mind.
The snow-white fox tail behind the little girl drooped to the ground, looking utterly listless.
"So boring."
"So boring."
Tushan Jingci yawned and set down the illustrated book. Her tail swept back and forth across the floor like a broom.
"I hate being confined. There's nothing fun about it at all."
As she spoke, the fox-eared little girl rolled onto her back, curled her big white fox tail against her chest, and rolled around on the floor like a little snow-white ball.
As she rolled,
Tushan Jingci couldn't help thinking back to the little boy she'd met last night, the one called "Xiao Mo."
Everyone else in the residence kept their distance when they saw her. They both respected and feared her, and didn't dare play with her.
But that little boy, who was about her age, was different.
Not only was he handsome, he didn't seem afraid of her.
Maybe he isn't like everyone else. Maybe he really would play with me?
As the thought crossed her mind,
a light suddenly sparked in Tushan Jingci's eyes, and she sat up at once.
"That's it! I just have to stop sneaking out of the residence, right?"
"It should be fine if I go find him to play, shouldn't it?"
Tushan Jingci said to herself.
Having settled on a new plan, Tushan Jingci took off her little socks and climbed into bed. She called to the maid waiting nearby, "Sister Yueshi, I'm a little sleepy. I'm going to bed. You should get
