"Pfft!!"
He just thought it was fun???
And wanted to work on his memory while he was at it?!
Listen to that. Is that even something a human would say?
Five champions had at least a hundred base stats between them. Ten champions had at least two hundred.
With a memory like yours, big brother, you still need to train it?
What about the rest of us King Rank players and pros? Are we supposed to just give up?!
Everyone had imagined all sorts of outcomes, but no one had expected Xu Cheng to give such an outrageous answer.
He'd practically shoved his talent in everyone's face, then slapped them twice... and kicked them for good measure!
[JackeyLove]: "Be honest with me, man. Are you just showing off on purpose?"
He sent the message, but it sank without a trace. There wasn't a single reply.
Xu Cheng didn't feel like going back and forth with Ah Shui anymore, either.
As far as he was concerned, his rookie teammate was bad enough at the game, and now he wouldn't stop asking questions.
Why not just play the game? If you wanted to enjoy it, you had to have the right attitude!
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Xu Cheng glanced at the minimap, then checked Ah Shui's position and typed:
[Keep an eye on your side. Someone's coming to gank you.]
?
Ah Shui had been wondering if Xu Cheng thought he was too stupid to bother answering. He froze.
He checked the minimap and his own position, too.
But he didn't see anything wrong.
[JackeyLove]: "What are you tal—#@¥@"
Before he could finish typing, a Lee Sin emerged from the small river to the right of Mid Lane.
"Holy shit! He really is coming!"
Ah Shui shouted and hurriedly backed away.
But he'd already wasted the best time to retreat. There was no getting away this time.
Lee Sin used Flash to close the gap, secured the kill, then barely escaped the turret.
"Ah~!"
Ah Shui rubbed his forehead in frustration.
Then he abruptly sat up, looking puzzled—and with a trace of admiration he hadn't even noticed himself—and typed:
[How did you know?]
Xu Cheng didn't mock Ah Shui this time. He hadn't been sure himself, so he replied:
[I judged it from when and where the jungler last showed, along with his skill cooldowns... Looks like I guessed right. He took two ranks in Q and didn't learn W...]
Ah Shui: "..."
He was starting to admit defeat.
He'd realized that this strange "enemy" might have an outrageous personality, daring to look down on everyone in a game like this.
But when it came to skill, Xu Cheng clearly had the goods.
From what Xu Cheng had just said, it was obvious this wasn't some bullshit calculation or guess. It was a talent.
He had it. Factory Director and Uzi had it, too. Every high-level player in King Rank had it.
But talents came in different degrees of strength...
Ignoring the livestream chat, which was flooding with "So cool," "This guy's insane," and "Who even is he? I'm already a fan," Ah Shui couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer and asked:
[Be honest with me, man. I'm not a sore loser, and someone as good as you wouldn't hold a grudge against me, right? Why memorize your teammates' stats?]
[There are ten people in the game, after all. Are you really doing it just for fun?]
Xu Cheng was a little speechless.
He was telling the truth. Why wouldn't the other guy believe him?
To Xu Cheng, things you could memorize by rote were genuinely simple. They were common knowledge.
Ah Shui and the others had just been startled because this was their first time encountering a Data Monster.
Champion base stats were right there for anyone to see. Xu Cheng had a good memory, and he'd always been good at subjects that relied on rote memorization, like English, Chinese, and politics.
Even without making a point of memorizing things, a quick glance was enough for him to get the general idea. For example, in this game, he'd only posted the stats for seven people. It wasn't nearly as exaggerated as they thought.
And skill cooldowns were even less reliable.
The jungler hadn't shown himself. Xu Cheng had only made a guess based on how a typical jungler would play. He couldn't even be sure if he was right.
He'd guessed correctly this time. He could only put it down to luck.
And if the game were more intense, Xu Cheng couldn't keep dividing his attention to do this sort of thing.
The reason he did it...
After thinking it over, Xu Cheng replied seriously:
"Actually, there is another reason."
"Oh?!"
Ah Shui froze. The countless viewers in his livestream, along with Factory Director, who had secretly logged in on an alt account to watch Xu Cheng, were all shocked, too.
Just as they thought!
They knew there had to be more to it!
How could someone this good do something so pointless?
[Ahem, well... If I know my teammates' general stats and skill cooldowns, I can tell in advance when they're about to feed. Then... I can get there early and give the enemy a kill.]
[What???]
Ah Shui was completely dumbfounded.
Then a sudden wave of anger surged through him!
It was the fury of someone who'd been deceived!
I'm trying to talk to you like a normal person, and you're giving me this ghost-story nonsense?!
Xu Cheng had no idea how Ah Shui was reacting. He also had no clue that the entire internet was completely stunned.
He continued:
[That's how it is. If I didn't do this, wouldn't the game be boring?]
Ah Shui: "..."
Everyone else: "..."
Those who played League of Legends and those who didn't were all silenced by Garen's Q after reading that!
"Holy shit! Kill him, kill him!"
Just then,
Uzi, who'd been focused on the game the whole time, shouted.
Everyone looked over.
In the river near top lane, the blue team's jungler, Lee Sin, and top laner, Riven, had caught Beethoven wandering lost in the jungle while Xu Cheng was busy clearing the wave.
The two of them focused him together, leaving Beethoven at critical health.
He panicked and activated E, sending Hecarim charging away.
But Xi Ye's Lee Sin tossed out a Q on prediction, hitting Beethoven.
On the other side, Brother Jujube controlled Riven and used her Q to get right in his face, cutting off his escape.
"Beethoven's done for. He got lost this time."
Seeing this, Ah Shui shook his head without thinking.
But then—
Ding, ding, ding!
Three pings appeared in quick succession.
Thresh, who'd been clearing the wave, came in from the side to help.
He threw a Q toward the empty space below.
Whoosh—clank!
In the next instant, Lee Sin had just used his second Q to leap into the air and was about to claim the kill when Thresh's hook hit him midair.
Lee Sin's second Q was interrupted!
"Whoa, what?"
Xi Ye froze.
But Xu Cheng's Thresh had already activated his second Q.
He flew straight to Lee Sin, then used Flash to land a predicted E.
Whoosh, boom!
Riven had already used two Qs, and her third was about to come down, knocking the critically wounded Hecarim into the air. But Thresh's Flay sent her flying from the top side straight to the bottom.
Riven's third Q was interrupted, too!
??????
"Holy shit!! What the hell was that?!"
Ah Shui cried out. "What the hell, are you cheating?"
"Hecarim actually survived that?!"
Thresh had stopped the pursuit twice in a row. Hecarim had been as good as dead, but somehow he'd made it out alive.
Beethoven disappeared into the depths of the jungle, kicking up dust as he ran without looking back.
"No, that was way too ridiculous. What kind of play was that?!"
By now, Xi Ye had recovered, but he was completely losing it.
What kind of play was that?
Could a person even pull off that kind of bullshit play?!
