Hyuga Yu soon arrived at the abandoned laboratory.
Calling it a laboratory, it looked more like a snake hole burrowed out by some giant serpent.
It was hidden, shaded, and smelled of damp air when one got close.
A barrier technique had been set up on the laboratory door, making it difficult to open. Hyuga Yu could only wait at the entrance.
Before long, Shigaraki Tanuki hurried over from the direction of the camp.
Compared to his previous attitude toward Hyuga Yu—when he had treated him as nothing more than a nuisance—he was undoubtedly much more proactive now.
"Follow me."
Once he arrived, Shigaraki Tanuki did not waste any words. In front of Hyuga Yu, he formed several hand seals and pressed them against the door.
"Hiss—"
Dust flew everywhere as the laboratory doors swung open!
"This place was left behind by Orochimaru. It was previously used to study... a classified project. But now, all the resources have been transferred to another project, so this place was abandoned."
As Shigaraki Tanuki spoke, he led Hyuga Yu downward.
After fewer than several dozen steps, the two arrived at a place filled with bottles and jars. The atmosphere was gloomy, broken equipment was piled haphazardly everywhere, and it resembled a storage room.
Looking at the two rows of green glass containers before him, as well as one particularly unusual culture dish with a crack in it, Hyuga Yu's heart stirred. He immediately recognized it as the laboratory where Orochimaru had studied Hashirama Cells.
What had originally been soaking in that shattered culture dish should have been Yamato—Tenzo—the sole lucky survivor among the sixty test subjects.
According to the timeline, Yamato was only eight years old at this point. Danzo had high hopes for him and was personally training him at his side.
