Hearing Hiruzen Sarutobi's question, Naruto rose to his feet. His gaze swept over Sasuke beside him before returning to Hiruzen Sarutobi. "The Sharingan is the Uchiha Clan's Kekkei Genkai."
"By Konoha's established customs, and when the Uchiha Clan still existed, the recovery and management of the Sharingan were originally the responsibility of the Uchiha Clan and their Military Police Force."
"Now that Sasuke is the only one left of the Uchiha Clan, these relics belonging to his clansmen should naturally be kept by him."
"This is the most reasonable and appropriate arrangement."
"Or is it that, Third Hokage, you intend to strip the Uchiha Clan of even this last remaining right?"
His words were perfectly reasonable. After all, Konoha had no right to interfere with how the major clans handled their Kekkei Genkai.
"Sasuke?" Hiruzen Sarutobi looked toward the black-haired youth beside him, who was likewise showing him great disrespect, and instinctively retorted, "He is only a child! Neither his judgment nor his strength has fully matured. How can he safeguard something so important and dangerous?"
Naruto did not answer directly. Instead, he turned to Sasuke and asked, "Sasuke, what do you think?"
Meeting Hiruzen Sarutobi's gaze, Sasuke no longer held even the slightest reverence for the Hokage in his black eyes. All that remained was cold detachment and unwavering resolve.
He stepped forward, his voice clear and icy. "I am qualified, and I have more than enough strength and judgment to safeguard these eyes."
"They are the remains of my Uchiha Clan brethren, and proof of Danzō's crimes."
"Other than me, the sole survivor of the Uchiha Clan, no one has the qualification or the right to keep these things that belong to the Uchiha."
Sasuke's words were firm and decisive, leaving no room for rebuttal.
